From Corgis to Chow Chows, there are many dog cafes in JB that house specific breeds so you can hang out with your choice of best bud. The same goes for cat cafes where you’ll find the likes of Ragdolls, British Shorthairs, and Maine Coons.
Entry fees are generally more affordable than our local prices in Singapore, starting from ~S$3/pax and offer just as much value with complimentary drinks and ice cream in some cases. Located at Mount Austin, Chill ‘N Chow is a dog cafe in JB that houses 5 adorable Chow Chows for you to get cosy with. You can purchase dog snacks and toys to play with them. Socks must be worn into the play area, and you can buy them at RM3 if you didn’t bring a pair.

Entry fee comes with free coconut ice cream.

The cafe’s menu offers mains such as pasta, fried chicken, and cakes with flavours ranging from Earl Grey Black Tea to Matcha Jasmine.

2. Corgi’s Talk Cafe

Situated 20 minutes away from Tuas Checkpoint, Corgi’s Talk Cafe is home to 10 corgis and a resident Alaskan husky. It’s a corgi-themed cafe, so you will be greeted by cute corgis printed on their walls and a vibrant shade of orange and white interior. There is also a sofa with corgi pillows, making this an IG worthy spot.
Each ticket comes with a complimentary drink as well.

3. Dachshund & Friends

Get ready to be swarmed by weiner dogs over at Dachshund & Friends. This dog cafe in Mount Austin has 7 dachshunds that can be tempted by treats: Yuzu, Mirin, Natto, Miruku, Goma, Milu, Nori. The entry fee also includes a free drink of your choice from their menu, which includes options like Kuri Mont Blanc, Mirin Milk Tea, and Ginger Rooibos
Word of note: Because of the gentle backs and spines of the dachshunds, please do not pick them up if you’re making a visit to this dog cafe. Visitors under 16 are also not permitted at the cafe, so unfortunately, it is not the most family-friendly dog cafe.

4. Shi-ba Cafe

Shi-ba Cafe is Malaysia’s first of its kind, carrying 10 Shiba Inus as its main dog breed. This dog cafe in JB is also located at Mount Austin, and it also has German Shepherds, Alaskan Malamutes, and Corgis. A 1-hour session will cost RM20-32/pax (~S$6.50-S$10.40) and dog treats can be purchased at RM2 (~S$0.65).

For your complimentary drink that comes with the entry fee, you can choose either Rose Jujube Tea or Wolfberry Chrysanthemum Tea. There’s also Japanese Curry Rice if you’re feeling hungry.

5. HOME by Tales of Paws
2-in-1 dog & cat cafe in JB

HOME by Tales of Paws has 2 storeys, separating the dogs and cats. The first floor is where you will find dogs such as Bernese Mountain Dogs, Alaskan Malamutes, and Afghan Hounds.
Note that corgis are separated from the other bigger dog breeds in the outdoor park, and you’ll have to pay different rates depending on which furry creature you want to play with.

They also have an indoor cattery housing cats from Maine Coons to Ragdolls, and a feeding area with cat bowls fixed onto a wall.

6. Cat Times
Sakura-themed cat cafe with board games

If you want to view the cherry blossoms in Japan but can’t afford to, head down to Cat Times. It’s a 2-storey cat cafe in JB with a large Sakura tree, housing 20 resident cats including Siamese and Ragdolls. This cafe is accessible within a 30-minute drive from Woodlands Checkpoint, and entry requires a minimum spend of RM10/pax (~S$3.25).

The dining area on the second floor serves cheesecakes and savoury dishes such as rice with tamago and eel in cat-shaped bowls. For those feeling restless, board games and books are available as well.

7. Chucky Cat Cafe

Located at Komtar JBCC shopping mall, Chucky Cat Cafe is a neon-lit cafe in JB with 20 cats ranging from British Shorthairs to Maine Coons. They offer an affordable family package, inclusive of 1 adult and 1 child at RM42 (~S$13.65), so you don’t have to worry about going over budget here.

Cat treats can be bought at RM5 and toys like feather wands are provided for you to play with the felines. Their menu consists of lattes and espressos, with their Americano being the cheapest option at RM6.90.

Enn Cat Cafe offers something different from the other cafes on this list, as they offer grooming services and are also a cat hotel. The vibes here would make you feel like you’re visiting your friend’s house, with their cosy sofas and tables.

For food options, they sell Western cuisine dishes such as fried chicken, French fries, and spaghetti. Their 1-hour sessions go from RM10 (~S$3.15) for children.

Enn Cat Cafe review: “It’s a cozy family cafe, friendly owner with many cute cats. Unlike other cat cafes, the cats here are really ‘manja’ and they’d demand you to pet them. The cats were well trained, when my food arrived, none of the cats disturbed me eating despite the good smell. 9. Coffee Cat House
Enjoy Niko Neko Matcha with free-roam cats
If you’re a matcha enjoyer, Coffee Cat House may just satisfy your cravings with their lattes brewed with premium, made-in-Japan Niko Neko matcha powder. Drinks aside, we’re all in it for the cats – this cafe is home to 8 adorable and fluffy felines, including the famous Mofusand-looking one named Butter.
And if you haven’t already done so, it’s never too late to hop on the Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte craze as this cafe serves up the beverage at RM19 (~S$5.98). For some sweet treats, indulge in their local favourite Oreo Cheese Cake (RM18, ~S$5.66).

Bonus: The Hidden Farm
Largest petting zoo in JB with 40 species of animals
As a bonus, The Hidden Farm is an animal house holding more than 40 species of animals. This mini indoor zoo has alpacas, ducks, rabbits, hedgehogs, meerkats, raccoons, goats, guinea pigs, ferrets, joey, and prairie dogs that you can pet. You can buy 2 cups of carrot slices and greens for RM10 (~S$3.25) to feed the animals too.
When you need a break from all the petting that you’ve dished out, you can stop by their in-house cafe; just make sure to pay respects to the chonky cat that roams the cafe! Do note that reservations are required as time slots are limited.

The Hidden Farm review: “This is a joy for young kids, especially toddlers. They do not have age restrictions and even allow 1-2 year olds to interact with their animals. My kid loved feeding the Guinea pigs very much and was so busy feeding every single one of them (there were quite a few). He also loved playing with the other animals.
