Bubble domes at Capitol Singapore
We’re no strangers to the retro neon signage that sits atop Capitol Singapore and the luxe Capitol Kempinski Hotel, both of which have popped up on our IG feeds more times than we can count.
And now, there’s yet another draw. From now till 15th November 2020, Capitol’s Outdoor Plaza is home to 10 dreamy pop-up bubble domes, where you can dine, play board games, and jam in with your friends.
Note: The domes are fully booked for the month of November, but you can look forward to them again in January 2021.

We’ve seen bubble domes in The Summerhouse at Seletar, but for those not willing to go to the ulu corners of SG, Capitol has something similar with essentially free entry. All you need to do is order something from one of their F&B outlets such as Flor Patisserie – no minimum spend required!

Order your favourite nomz from Capitol and let the establishment know you’ll be dining in the dome, garden tea-party style. No worries about Singapore’s sweltering heat as unlike having a picnic out in an open field, each private dome comes with a portable air conditioning to keep things cool.
Enjoy free use of board games and musical instruments
Food aside, there’s more to do to fill up your time in the dome with board games such as Saboteur and The Singaporean Dream available for free with every dome reservation – simply request them from the staff when you’re down at the pop up!

Musically inclined folks out there can opt for their music-themed dome equipped with a guitar, keyboard and even a cajon to jam to your favourite tunes. We suggest Bed of Roses by Bon Jovi or Truly Madly Deeply by Savage Garden to match the surrounding theme.

No two domes are the same. Each of the 10 bubble huts comes with different furnishings, but all look like a scene out of Alice in Wonderland.

Lounge in a cosy one with velvety sofas, cushions and a coffee table, or enjoy a fancier dining experience in their luxe dome fitted with plush dining seats around a round table with an overhead floral chandelier that lights up in the evenings.

For safe distance, a maximum of 5 people are allowed in each tent, but couples can head down to enjoy the whole tent all to themselves.

A highly-coveted experience, the dome dining experience at Capitol Singapore has since sold out for the rest of its November stint due to overwhelming demand. So those who’ve managed to snag a seat earlier on, good on you for booking fast.
Not to worry though – for those who have not yet managed to secure a slot, the pop-up has promised a return next January 2021, to host more visitors. Slots have yet to be released, so stay turned to Capitol Singapore’s Facebook page for updates!
