The number of pet cafes has grown more than we can count now, and with JB becoming a hotspot for our weekend getaways, cafe hopping is a popular activity. From Corgis to Chow Chows, there are many dog cafes in JB that house specific breeds so you can hang out with your choice of best bud. The same goes with cat cafes where you’ll find the likes of Ragdolls, British Shorthairs, and Maine Coons.
Entry fees are generally more affordable than our local prices in Singapore, starting from ~S$3/pax and offer just as much value with complimentary drinks and ice cream in some cases. Some of these cafes even provide a range of food options, and unique facilities such as playgrounds and swimming pools for animals.

1. Chill ‘N Chow

Located at Mount Austin, Chill ‘N Chow houses 5 adorable Chow Chows for you to get cosy with. You can purchase dog snacks and toys to play with them. Socks must be worn into the play area, and you can buy them at RM3 if you didn’t bring a pair.
Entry fee comes with free coconut ice cream.

The cafe’s menu offers mains such as pasta, fried chicken, and cakes with flavours ranging from Earl Grey Black Tea to Matcha Jasmine.

2. Corgi’s Talk Cafe

Situated 20 minutes away from Tuas Checkpoint, Corgi’s Talk Cafe is home to 9 corgis and a resident Alaskan husky. It’s a corgi-themed cafe, so you will be greeted by cute corgis printed on their walls and a vibrant shade of orange and white interior. There is also a sofa with corgi pillows, making this an IG worthy spot.

Food wise, the cafe serves Grilled Chicken Chop (RM24.80), Sambal Shrimp Pasta (RM22.80), and Lattes from RM12.

3. Chow Q 2.0

With a name inspired by the Chow Chow dog breed, Chow Q 2.0 is a 2-storey dog cafe located in Mount Austin. The cafe has a pool and over 40 dogs, including 20 giant Poodles, Pomeranians, Huskies and of course, Chow Chows. If you are looking for a furry companion, the cafe is also offering puppies for adoption.

You can enjoy unlimited sessions with no entry fees, but you have to make a minimum purchase of one drink from RM19.90. Socks are required and can be purchased at RM2.50.
The food options here are not to be missed, as they serve hotpot and bubble tea in cups designed with cute Chow Chow prints. Their hotpot comes with 3 soup bases; you can choose from Mala to Herbal soup, and you can either go for the pork, beef, or seafood sets.

4. Shi-ba Cafe
One of the only few cafes with Shiba Inus

Shi-ba Cafe is Malaysia’s first of its kind, carrying 10 Shiba Inus as its main dog breed. The cafe is also located at Mount Austin, and it also has German Shepherds, Alaskan Malamutes, and Corgis. A 1-hour session will cost RM10/pax and dog treats can be purchased at RM2.

For your complimentary drink that comes with the entry fee, you can choose either Rose Jujube Tea or Wolfberry Chrysant Tea. There’s also Japanese curry rice if you’re feeling hungry.

5. HOME by Tales of Paws

HOME by Tales of Paws has 2 storeys separating the dogs and cats. The first floor is where you will find dogs such as Bernese Mountain Dogs, Alaskan Malamutes, and Afghan Hounds.
Note that corgis are separated from the other bigger dog breeds in the outdoor park, and you’ll have to pay different rates depending on which furry creature you want to play with.

They also have an indoor cattery housing cats from Maine Coons to Ragdolls, and a feeding area with cat bowls fixed onto a wall.

6. Cat Times

If you want to view the cherry blossoms in Japan but can’t afford to, head down to Cat Times. It’s a 2-storey cafe with a large Sakura tree, housing 20 resident cats including Siamese and Ragdolls. This cafe is accessible within a 30-minute drive from Woodlands Checkpoint, with an entry fee of RM10/pax.

The dining area on the second floor serves cheesecakes and savoury dishes such as rice with tamago and eel in cat-shaped bowls. For those feeling restless, board games and books are available as well.

7. Chucky Cat Cafe

Located at Komtar JBCC shopping mall, Chucky Cat Cafe is a neon-lit cafe with 20 cats ranging from British Shorthairs to Maine Coons. They offer an affordable family package, inclusive of 1 adult and 1 child at RM38, so you don’t have to worry about going over budget here.

Cat treats can be bought at RM5 and toys like feather wands are provided for you to play with the felines. Their menu consists of lattes and espressos, with their Americano being the cheapest option at RM6.90.

8. Ohayo Cat Cafe

For those with a sweet tooth, Ohayo Cat Cafe will cater to your need for desserts in the company of cute felines. With a total of 10 cats, the cafe specialises in desserts such as their Matcha Affogato (RM10), and a wide range of croissants like their Croissant Full of Berries (RM12).

A must-try would be their Coconut Latte (RM8) and Lemon Coke (RM5), a unique take on drinks that cannot be found anywhere else.

9. Choco Neko

If your aesthetic is pink and kawaii, Choco Neko is the cafe for you. Located in Permas Jaya which is a 24-minute drive from the Woodlands Checkpoint, the cafe has 6 cats residing in their minimalist and chic interior. There is no entry fee, but you are required to minimally spend RM10 on a drink.

Their menu focuses more on pastries such as their Belgium Liege Waffle (RM16). They also offer coffee, milk tea and homemade soda drinks such as their Love Potion (RM13).

10. Enn Cat Cafe
Cosy cafe that feels like your relative’s home

Enn Cat Cafe offers something different from the other cafes on this list, as they offer grooming services and are also a cat hotel. The vibes here would make you feel like you’re visiting your friend’s house, with their cosy sofas and tables.

Bonus: D.A Little Farm
A mini farm with 10 species of animals

As a bonus, D.A Little Farm is an animal house holding more than 10 species of animals. This mini indoor zoo has alpacas, turtles, meerkats, skunks, parrots, and ducks. As it’s operated by the same team behind Shi-ba Cafe, this pet shop can be found right above the cafe on the third floor in Mount Austin.
