Things to do at West Mall
If you’re one of those 90s kids who grew up playing video games, chances are you’re familiar with Sonic the Hedgehog – Sega’s blue mascot who took the world by storm in 1991.
Fast forward to 2022 and the super-speed icon with a love for chilli dogs is making a comeback in the latest blockbuster Sonic The Hedgehog 2 – out in cinemas on 31st March. But if you’re that big of a fan and a movie just won’t cut it, swing by West Mall. You’ll be able to catch the hedgehog in action, score themed goodies like tumblers and snatch shopping vouchers.
Snatch Sonic 2 goodies like tumblers and tote bags
West Mall is going all out for the fans by showering them with themed merchandise, movie tickets and shopping vouchers. If you’re a serious Sonic fan, it’s time to hit the shops.
From now till 24th April, hit at least $80 on 2 same-day receipts and you’ll get a snazzy Sonic The Hedgehog 2 tote bag and a $10 shopping voucher. Big spenders who drop $120 or more on 3 same-day receipts will immediately score a tumbler, a pair of movie tickets to catch Sonic on the big screen, along with a medium popcorn with fruit-flavoured cereal and a large soda.
Note: You’ll need to spend twice the amount stated above if you’re shopping for electronics or groceries at Cold Storage.
The fun doesn’t stop there. On top of all these hedgehog goodies, keep your eyes peeled for various contests that will be announced on West Mall’s Facebook and Instagram in the upcoming weeks. Be one of the 20 lucky peeps to nab a $50 shopping voucher and spend it on your shopping spree.
For even more perks, download a colouring sheet from West Mall’s Facebook page or head over to the customer service counter at level 3 to pick up a copy. Then, colour away. 10 budding artists will immediately score a $50 voucher to spend at POPULAR bookstore and Tom & Stefanie children’s department store.
Get a selfie with Sonic and Tails IRL
As you patiently wait for the blue spike-ball to make his appearance on the big screen, there are a few things you can do: dust off your stuffed hedgehog toys collection, play a game of Sonic Spinball, and head to West Mall for a ton of selfies ops with the stars of Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
On 2nd, 3rd, 9th and 10th April at 2pm, snap pics with Sonic and Tails at their meet and greet sessions. Keep an eye out for a secret code from either West Mall’s Facebook or Instagram and share it with the customer service officers on Level 3 to gain access – you know the drill.
Spoiler alert: the atrium has also been decked out in Sonic-themed decor. So if you miss out on the photo session, you can still take IG-worthy pics around the mall.
Score discounts and win prizes at West Mall
If you know all of the Sonic theme songs like the back of your hand, put West Mall on your must-visit list this weekend asap. You’ll be able to bag a slew of fab hedgehog freebies, movie tickets and even shopping vouchers.
Besides the Sonic craze that’s happening at West Mall, don’t overlook other ongoing store discounts. Everything – from Japanese food at Ichiban Sushi, electronics at Harvey Norman, glasses at Lenskart, bedding accessories at Komme to ukulele lessons at Liberal Music & Arts School – will be on sale.
