Massages are purely reserved for treating pained and tensed muscles, while spas are solely for relaxation and pampering, with massages being part of the services they offer. At massage salons, they usually offer various types of massage services such as Swedish, aromatherapy, Thai, Shiatsu, and foot reflexology. These massages have their own unique benefits:
Though spas also offer these massage services as well, these treatments can be packaged with other beauty treatments or services such as facials, onsen baths, saunas, body scrub, manicures or pedicures, and body wraps. Hence, overall, spas tend to provide a more holistic approach for a luxurious experience.
Below is an overview of the best massage spas in Singapore, from couple baths to massages with technology therapies.

Before you go for your spa session, here are a few things you should keep in mind:
Leave your jewellery at home: While we understand that accessorising plays a major factor in elevating your mood and outfit, you will be asked to remove your jewellery prior to your session. So you might as well save yourself the trouble and avoid wearing them altogether or at most keep it minimal on that day.
Have a light meal and stay hydrated: Be sure to eat lightly because the last thing you want is feeling bloated and on the verge of seeing your lunch splattered all over the floor. And, of course, drink plenty of water so that your muscles become softer and more pliable for your masseuse to work on.
Don’t shave before your session: This mostly applies to body exfoliations and facials, as shaving can make your skin more sensitive and susceptible to irritation.
Cover open wounds: If you have any cuts or open wounds, make sure to keep them covered to prevent any infections.
It’s perfectly safe to get a massage during your menstrual cycle, so long as you maintain proper hygiene and wear a tampon or pad. Don’t forget to communicate this to your therapist so they can adjust the pressure accordingly.
From spas that are open 24 hours a day, to garden-themed spas with on-site yoga classes – we’re pretty sure you’ll find a spa that strikes your fancy. Plus, with so many best massage spas located in Singapore, you won’t have to travel far the next time you need a little retreat.
