Itā€™s that season of sinfully sweet mooncakes and lantern gatherings yet again. But at Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre, thereā€™s so much more happening to usher in the Mid-Autumn festivities as well.

In true Singaporean fashion, the Mid-Autumn Festival celebration at SCCC between 13th-14th September 2019 has a couple of free things to look out for, like movie screenings and snacks. Plus, you can even learn how to concoct your very own bubble tea drink!

From escape room games to stargazing, hereā€™s more of what you can expect:

Stargaze, admire the full moon and discover stories about the sky

From the roof garden of SCCC thatā€™s nestled within the Central Business District area, take a visual step closer to the full moon and its surrounding galaxy of stars through a telescope with Starry Starry Night. Stargazing opportunities are few and far between in Singapore, so this will make for a fun astronomy lesson for both young and old.

Instead of trawling through shopping malls and tasting endless samples of mooncakes, grab this chance to participate in some activities that you wonā€™t get to experience every day.Ā

There are even more Mid-autumn events lined up during the festival too, including Whoā€™s My Fam? – a free parent-child workshop to explore your family roots, and a Mid-Autumn Pop Symphony featuring symphonic renditions of Mandarin and dialect classic hits by both veteran and young performers, like David Chia, his daughter Lindy Chia, Yes 933 DJ Gao Meigui and Peter Huang from MICappella, with the Asian Cultural Symphony Orchestra.Ā

If youā€™re thinking – ā€œbut Mid-Autumn Festival ainā€™t complete without some mooncakes and teaā€, fret not. You can still join the Lunar Tea Date to unearth the cross-cultural connections of the moon through music and dances while enjoying fragrant tea paired with mooncakes, and thereā€™s – get this – complimentary mooncakes and tea at the Makan Station too!
