MBS Sands For Singapore Charity Festival 2022

Finally, after 2 years of radio silence, festival szn is upon us. Tickets for F1 have sold out in an instant and passes for ZoukOut might cost an arm and a leg. But that’s okay because as long as parties like the MBS Sands For Singapore Charity Festival exist, you can still have a ball of a time.

Running from 8th-10th September 2022, the fest features shopping booths, food stalls, and live performances by local artists such as Ben Kheng and Tabitha Nauser.

Pop-up shopping booths

News just in: a shopping bazaar is landing at the MBS Event Plaza so be prepared to drop some serious cash.

Complete with 15 booths run by non-profit organisations, social enterprises, and small local businesses, the Giving Marketplace sells everything from baked goods and preloved clothes to handmade crafts and house plants.

Besides guilt-free shopping, you can also consider adopting a cat at the pet adoption drive that’s helmed by the folks from Cat Welfare Society.

Shop till you drop, then make an obligatory pitstop at one of the food stalls at the festival.

Between the juicy All American Burger ($12) from Black Tap Singapore and the popcorn shrimp ($8) from Yardbird Southern Table & Bar, things might get dangerous for your diet. To wash it all down, grab a bottle of Old Skool Lager ($8) or a Classic Milkshake ($8) and then roll back home afterwards.

While you’re at it, have a look at the Marina Bay Sands mooncake booth. As Mid-Autumn Festival is around the corner, it’s only right that you stock up on these sugar-laden treats. Classic white lotus double yolk mooncakes can be found here.

Live shows & special performances

After all, no festival is complete without having live performances involved. Not to mention, they’re free for all to catch.

This year, the Sands For Singapore Charity Festival features a solid lineup of artists you’ll want to hear. There’ll be Ben Kheng and Tabitha Nauser belting out bangers. And then there’s Annette Lee, Jack & Rai, and One Nation who shall grace us with their vocals.

Festivals aren’t created equal. Some require you to sway and sweat till 4am in an ocean of ravers.  While others – the more wholesome ones – let you have a good time while supporting a good cause. One of the latter is the MBS Sands For Singapore Charity Festival.

Apart from the chill vibes, good food, and great headliners, there’ll also be a lantern giveaway, art and craft workshops, and mid-autumn-themed activities like the lantern light-up at  ArtScience Museum lily pond.

Other activities to KIV include the 4k Heartstring Walk at the Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade. When you sign up for the event, you’ll be able to support over 100 social service agencies and 200 programmes by the Community Chest while toning your calves.

To make the most out of all the events spanning 3 days, consider doing a staycation right here at MBS. Not only will you save commute time, you’ll also be able to catch the daily Spectra lightshow that’s part of the programme right from your room windows while munching on complimentary classic mooncakes.

If you’d like to prevent yourself from catching a strain of FOMO, then we’ll see you at the festival.
