New cafes & restaurants in Singapore 2026

This April, we are all spoilt for choice once again, with a myriad of new cafes and restaurants to visit. From hearty smash burgers to Hillion Mall’s revamped hotel-inspired Kopitiam, here’s everything you need to add to your foodie list.

April 2026

1. Smash Street

Classic smash burgers

Smash Street Classic Smashed Burger

From the same team that brought you Scarpetta, Smash Street is an upcoming contemporary burger bar dishing out classic smash burgers just a few doors down from its viral pasta predecessor. If you’re confused as to what a smash burger is, the patty is basically smashed on a hot griddle to achieve an ultra-crisp caramelised edge, topped with your usual condiments before being sandwiched between fluffy potato buns.

To celebrate its launch on 3rd April 2026, Smash Street is giving away 1,000 burgers for free, with 500 available on 3rd and 4th April during their lunch and dinner service each day. If you’re looking to dine in for the full burger bar experience, you might want to head down early, as the outlet only has 14 seats for walk-in diners. But fret not, takeaway is also available.

Pair their signature Classic Burger ($14) with a side like their Chicken Poppers ($10), which comes with a housemade chilli crunch aioli, and their Cornflake Milkshake ($8).

Those working in the CBD and looking for new dining options can visit Yaowarat Cafe when it opens on 8th April 2026. It serves Kai Krata, also known as Thai Breakfast Pan Eggs, all day long. The co-founder is half Thai, so rest assured that the dishes served here are authentic.

Try their signature Yaowarat Kai Krata ($7.80), featuring Thai basil minced pork, bacon, and a unique ratio of 2 egg yolks to 3 egg whites to help you hit your daily protein intake. Expect twists on local cuisines as well, such as the Thai Green Tea Kaya Toast ($2) and Nanyang Kai Krata ($9.80), which draws inspiration from the bold flavours of nasi lemak.

Spanish communal-style dining experience

Sabor CHIJMESImage credit: Sabòr

There’s a new Spanish restaurant at CHIJMES to add to your list – Sabòr. It serves familiar hits like a range of tapas selections, as well as paellas and grilled meats. Pop by for food, drinks, and a specially curated music programme to immerse yourself in an atmosphere reflective of Spain’s communal dining culture.

Begin with one of their many tapas options, such as the Fried Calamari a la Andaliza ($22), before sharing a pan of their Squid-ink & Seafood Paella ($38) or the Lamb, Pisto & Salsa Verde ($39). Don’t sleep on their vegetarian dishes either; the sinful Potatoes ‘Bravisimas’ ($16) slabbed with butter is worth the calories, trust us. Go for the Spring Onion Tempura & Romesco Sauce ($16) for something healthier with a bit of crunch.

3. AMOR

Spanish tapas & desserts

New Cafes and Restaurants 2026 - Amor at Amoy Street

Stepping into AMOR at Amoy Street feels like stumbling into a Mediterranean dreamscape. This new Spanish concept is the brainchild of the duo formerly behind the iconic Olivia and Noa Lounge. The space is a visual tribute to Barcelona; think curved arches inspired by Gaudí and a stunning trencadís mosaic bar made of broken tiles. By day, it’s a bright spot for a leisurely $38++ 3-course set lunch, but once the sun sets and the siesta ends, the vibe shifts entirely. The lighting dims, the music picks up a rhythmic pulse, and the restaurant transforms into a refined dinner destination.

The menu is a love letter to Spain, balancing traditional roots with innovative twists. Purists will flock to the Jamón Ibérico de Bellota ($38), hand-carved and cured for 24 months, or the soul-warming Paella Mediterranean Seafood ($56), complete with that crunchy socarrat at the bottom. For those looking for Chef Wang’s signature playfulness, the Happy Eggggg ($18) is a must-try – a 65°C onsen egg layered with truffle sabayon served in a martini glass. Don’t skip dessert, particularly the Hazelnut & Almond Lava Cake ($18) served with coconut ice cream.

The food menu includes dishes that pair really well with cocktails, such as the Crispy Fried Chicken ($18), Cucumber & Squid Muchim ($14), and Tuna Gimbap ($21).

What’s unique is their Korean traditional design and architecture, and 4 zones with different energy levels starting from the outermost Kki Bar, which is the social heart of BOP, followed by Skylight Green. As you step further in, things become quieter and more intimate with the Bokagi Room, and finally the innermost Sarangbang, which resembles private rooms in Korean traditional homes.

Happy hour at BOP runs from 6pm to 7.30pm daily.

11. POP CITY X PONY

Japanese-inspired cocktail bar in the CBD

New Bars and Restaurants in SG 2026 - Pop City Pony

If you’re a fan of the Jigger & Pony crew, you’ll want to put their latest spot, POP CITY X PONY, at the top of your bar-hop list. Created in collaboration with The House of Suntory, the space feels less like a cultural living room inspired by the cool, eclectic energy of modern Japan.

The menu is split into 2 distinct moods: POP and CITY. If you’re feeling high-energy, go for the “POP” side with vibrant, music-inspired drinks like the Strawberry Love Punch ($26) or the moody, caffeine-kicked HØJ1CHA €SPR€$$Ø MART1N1 ($25). For something a bit more polished and minimalist, the “CITY” section offers structured sips like the Pop City Sour ($26), which features a smooth Hibiki Harmony base. If you’re a regular, keep an eye on their “Seasons in Motion” series, where they rotate 2 experimental cocktails every month to match the 24 Japanese solar terms, so there’s always a fresh excuse to visit.

The venue itself is a bit of a maze, broken into different zones to suit your vibe. You can grab a seat at the Byōbu Bar against a backdrop of hand-painted folding screens, or hide away in the Bar Mixtape nook, a tiny spot modelled after Tokyo’s famous micro-bars where you can actually browse and listen to CDs while you sip. Between the mid-century Danish furniture and the vintage vinyl displays, it’s a very aesthetic place to settle in.

Hungry? Don’t miss the Mochi Cheese Nuggets ($12) served with a miso curry sauce, or the indulgent Uni and Corn Croquettes ($20). If you’re looking to save a few bucks, swing by for their daily happy hour from 5.30pm to 8pm, where you can snag drinks starting from just $15.
