This Camping-Themed Cafe Gives You Major Out-Of-Town Feels Without Ruining Your Shoes

NOMADS at Seletar Aerospace Park

The Parent Trap is a great movie and all, but, let’s be honest, the lizard scene at the end probably scared us city folk more than it should’ve. Nevertheless, we all love a quick escape from the city, especially when you’re a corporate girlie going through the motions.

To give yourself a fun getaway, booking a hotel in Sentosa isn’t the only option. Instead, head over to the outdoorsy NOMADS cafe and lounge in a campsite while sipping on chilled beverages. That’s right; it’s like camping but without the hassle of bringing your own tents and folding chairs or having to set them up yourself.

Chill in camping tents & order munchies

Tucked away in Seletar Aerospace Park, near Wheeler’s Estate, NOMADS cafe is a sanctuary for those looking to relax in greenery while devouring brekkie items and taking cute pics. Plus, you can bring your pets along. It’s also a favourite of cyclists looking for a quick break in between their cycling trails.

Don’t worry, if camping overnight isn’t your thing; this cafe feels like the real deal. But you won’t have to worry about missing your nightly skincare routine.

Outdoor & indoor seating options

Enjoy the sunny outdoor vibes by opting to dine in the outdoor tents. These come with foldable camping chairs so just sit back, relax, and yap your partner’s ear off while in the shade. Plus, you don’t have to pitch them yourself so you can get straight to ordering your food and drinks.

If you’re not the biggest fan of basking in the sun, fret not, you can opt for sitting indoors in either of the floors at this 2-storey cafe.

In case you want to spice up the hangout, you could bring your board games from home and have a chill gaming sesh. Assuming such a thing exists.

If that gets too intense, you can take the chiller route and enjoy the soul-soothing music from their live band that performs every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Do note, their lineup of performers tends to rotate per week. Simply visit their IG @nomads.sg to find out who is performing.

Bring your pets along

We all know that darn look of betrayal your doggo gives you when you leave the house. Don’t worry, you can avoid the guilt-tripping and bring your furry friend along on your day out.

Feel free to take your caveman sibling who hasn’t seen the light of day with you too. In other words, all pets are welcome.

Let’s be real, did it really happen if you didn’t take a pic? If you’re annoyed that your feed is looking dry, this cute cafe will give it that extra edge with pretty aesthetics. Sprawl on the grass or use your tent as a backdrop since you obviously pitched it yourself. It’s okay, what your followers don’t know won’t hurt ‘em.

Foodie delights like all-day breakfast, prawn pasta & croissants

Loophole: If breakfast is the most important meal of the day, might as well eat it for every meal, right?

At NOMADS, you get to devour all-day breakfasts, like the Bigman’s Breakfast ($28) which has fluffy eggs, bacon, sourdough, mushroom, sausage, and beans. Or you could get the chef’s recommendation, Backpackers Breakfast Burrito ($18) which has eggs, spinach, black beans, cheddar, pico, avocados, fries, and chilli jam. You know the drill.

For something lighter, you can opt for the Smoked Salmon Cream Cheese Croissant ($12). If you’re a pasta person and desperately need your favourite carbs, you could also try their Garlic Glow Prawn Pasta ($28).

Cafe-hopping is always going to be a favourite pastime for us Singaporeans. And, with so many new eateries to check out, it’s almost worthy of becoming a sport.

But, if cafe hopping isn’t on your to-do list, then surely camping is. If staying overnight in nature isn’t your forte, consider NOMADS to be your saving grace – offering outdoorsy vibes without the bugs and hassle.
