Restaurants to catch the NDP fireworks
It isn’t National Day season without hearing the crooning voices of Taufik Batisah, Stephanie Sun, and Tanya Chua in every supermarket and shopping mall. The day of reds and whites is right around the corner and there’s no more iconic way of celebrating Singapore’s birthday than catching the annual display of fireworks.
Other than booking a hotel with firework views, here are 9 restaurants and bars in the Marina Bay area with some of the best views of ‘works. Some have NDP set meals, others have free-flow booze, and last we checked all of them still have seats for the actual celebration on 9th August 2023.
1. Southbridge – Gin & oyster bar with a wide view of the ‘works

Savour bar bites and tipples while overlooking the Singapore River at Southbridge. Situated a little further away from the Marina Bay floating platform, this oyster and gin speciality bar is where you can still enjoy great views without having to pay top dollar and squeeze in with the crowds.
Dive into a Southbridge Signature platter ($78) complete with oysters and octopus tacos, and end your night with cocktails from $18 as you and your beau watch the sky light up in a gazillion sparkles.

2. Caffe Fernet – National Day event with free-flow alcohol
The scenic Caffe Fernet is holding a National Day event on 9th August 2023 that would be perfect for party animals.

With tickets starting from $200 per person, this party package comes with 3 hours of free-flow alcoholic beverages plus dinner service. It also guarantees you a seat from 5.30pm all the way to 10.30pm. Tickets for the NDP party can be purchased on Caffe Fernet website.

3. Dark Horse Japanese Seafood – Popular for okonomiyaki

While not the closest restaurant to the fireworks, Dark Horse Japanese Seafood Restaurant & Bar offers reasonably-priced Japanese fare, tucked up a staircase along the shophouses of Boat Quay. The Okonomiyaki (from $10) is a favourite among regulars here, and you can also find Kaisen Don priced between $18-$32.

4. OverEasy – Waterfront retro American diner

Receiving rave reviews about its unblocked views of the fireworks is OverEasy. Through the years, it’s been a favourite for locals and tourists to catch the NDP and NYE pyrotechnics. Enjoy American diner eats such as Buttermilk Fried Chicken Burgers ($25) and Baby Back Ribs ($36) along the waterfront of One Fullerton.

5. Mr Stork – Teepee huts & tables with views on Level 39

Andaz Singapore’s Mr Stork needs no introduction as one of the best bars in Singapore for stunning views. From its rooftop perch on level 39, soak in panoramic vistas of the national day fireworks over Chilli Crab Cake ($20) and Salted Egg Prawn Toast ($20).
Diners who manage to snag a seat on 9th August can also look forward to live music and NDP-themed cocktails ($25).

6. LeVel 33 – Sip on fresh beer while overlooking the fireworks
LeVel 33 is best known for being the highest microbrewery in the world. This National Day season, it’ll also be one of the best places in town to sip on their freshly brewed beer while peering over the open-air balcony that overlooks the parade.

7. CÉ LA VI – Located on 57th floor of Marina Bay Sands
If you’re on a quest to find the best fireworks view this NDP, CÉ LA Vi Singapore is the answer.

Situated on level 57 of the iconic Marina Bay Sands, the restaurant slings a selection of Asian fusion sharing plates and light bites. Opt for specialty sushi rolls (from $20), juicy lamb chops ($32), or sticky short ribs ($198) with a side of unblocked views of the fireworks come 9th August.
The venue also has an outdoor bar and a lounge next door where DJs spin groovy beats till 6am.

8. Artemis Grill – Mediterranean-inspired dishes
40 stories over the luxe CapitaGreen skyscraper, Artemis Grill is lined with oak tables, plush vouchers, and hanging plants.

Helmed by Michelin-starred chef Oliver Hyde, the Mediterranean menu promises dishes like Moroccan Lamb Chops ($156) and Fremantle Octopus ($32). On National Day, you’ll probably want the hearty 3-course menu ($98++/person) and a few iced cold martinis to sip on as you catch the fireworks.

9. Kinki Restaurant + Bar – Modern Japanese cuisine
This Japanese spot is split into a restaurant and a rooftop bar that boasts beautiful Singapore skyline views- especially at twilight.

On the menu at Kinki Restaurant + Bar is a mix of classic Japanese fare like fresh sashimi (from $12), rolls (from $16), and donburis (from $35), alongside grilled surf and turf plates (from $32). After you dine and wine, head up a flight of stairs and claim a table for the crew.
At the rooftop bar, you’ll be able to get a boozy package ($288++/4 people) to tide you through the night. It comes with a bottle of gin, vodka, or whisky, mixers, and a snack platter, and will add to the festive vibes.

Book a restaurant with a view to catch the NDP fireworks
Chances are you’ve tried squeezing in with hoards of other people to catch a glimpse of the NDP fireworks along Marina Bay. Try booking a restaurant for your next viewing experience for a more “romantic” experience with boo, sans the crowds.
There’s also no waiting till next year – with 2022 being the last year that the NDP will be held at the floating platform, this will be your final chance to catch the fireworks from the above dining spots.
