You can try camping out at spots for NDP fireworks, though that may get crowded quickly too. Heartland events are much smaller in scale – and with a real community vibe, too.

Most of the heartland celebration events on National Day are free, but some require a token fee to participate. The rest are fairly affordable though, with tickets ranging from $3-$8. However, there are limited slots available for these events, so it’s fastest fingers first.

1. Canberra CC

Families residing in the North can look forward to a wholesome movie night once August hits. Canberra CC is organising a National Day movie night on 1st August at the Sembawang Hardcourt right next to Sembawang MRT, and they’ll be screening Pixar’s Inside Out 2 from 7pm onwards.

There’s even free movie snacks while stocks last, so come early to not only snag them, but to chope your seats as well.

2. Nee Soon South CC SG60 National Day Dinner

Nothing quite brings together people like a feast, so head on over to Nee Soon South CC to indulge in their SG60 National Day Dinner, happening on 1st August. Seats are going for $38, and diners can expect to be treated to an 8-course meal with vegetarian and halal options, as well as a wholesome National Day song singalong and cultural performances.

3. Tampines East

National Day heartland celebration with Old Chang Kee food truck

Tampines peeps can head to Tampines East CC for a National Day carnival on 3rd August. While not as glam as the Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar, it’s special in its own way thanks to everyone’s favourite Old Chang Kee. The local snack brand is showing up with a food truck, where you can purchase fan-favourite bites like curry puffs and skewers of fishballs and sotong.

Feel free to dress in your best SG60-inspired outfits too, as there’ll be prizes given out to the best-dressed individuals. But that’s not all – there will be live band performances, art booths, and even a Jogetrobic class for all ages.

4. Kampong Chai Chee CC

Huge National Day carnival with rides & live performances

Another larger-scale National Day Hearland celebration will be happening at Kampong Chai Chee Community Club on 2nd August. Located in Heartbeat@Bedok, they’ll have carnival-like festivities such as train rides and a bouncy castle for the little ones, food booths to keep you going through the day, and electrifying live performances.

For even more memories, bring home a handmade memento at the various craft workshops on-site or pay a visit to the photo booths to snap a pic. Entry to the event is ticketed, but you can get your tickets completely FOC by visiting the Residents’ Network in the vicinity.

5. Fengshan Maple RN

If you can’t convince the kids to give up their play time, you can celebrate National Day and let them roam free at the Fengshan National Day Observance Ceremony 2025. This National Day celebration event in the heartland will be held outdoors at Jalan Pari Burong Playground, so you can soak in the fresh air while enjoying performances from schools. There are also bouncy castles and a magic show lined up for the kids and goodie bags up for grabs.

There is 2-way transport provided for the public, and it will depart from Fengshan CC at 9.15am sharp.

6. Kallang CC

There’s also a lucky draw to take part in, and captivating live performances will be happening all night long to keep you entertained.

They’ll be screening the parade live, so load up on food and drinks, grab a goodie bag, and belt out National Day songs with your fellow compatriots.

Let your kid relive your childhood old-school playground at Frontier CCs National Day Celebration & PAssionArts Festival 2025. It has a bouncy castle shaped like the Toa Payoh Dragon Playground.
