If you love blind boxes but can’t justify dropping cash on figurines with no particular functionality, this one might just be the exception. The Kodak Charmera keychain is the ultimate combination of 2 of our favourite trends right now, digicams and mystery boxes – and yes, they’re fully functional.
During its initial release, the tiny cameras were quickly wiped off shelves due to a super high demand. Now, there’s a new series of Kodak Charmeras for you to collect. Enter the Kodak Charmera Millennium Edition.

Kodak Charmera keychains are essentially miniature cameras inspired by the OG Kodak Fling disposable camera. Unlike the Kodak Fling, however, the Charmeras are digital cameras that can snap both photos and videos.
They come in 7 retro designs that pay homage to the millennium era, compared to the first series that was more 1980s-retro. The new designs feature a striking chrome finish with vivid colours like orange, pink, lime green, silver, black, blue, and a special mirror edition that you have a 1 in 48 chance of getting from the blind box.
The Kodak Charmera operates on a 1.6MP camera, with a USB-C cable for easy file transfer to other devices.

Pictures can be shot with 7 different filters: B&W, cool tone, warm tone, and pixel coral, honey, teal, and violet.
There are also 4 new frames you’ll be able to slap on, including a vintage TV and old-school media player.

Given its size and resolution, the Kodak Charmera is admittedly not the sharpest nor most high-tech camera on the market. However, it’s already gone viral online, so much so that it’s nearly impossible to get your hands on one right now.
Many are comparing its popularity to the Labubu craze – basically, people love collecting cute mystery items, and the Charmera gets bonus points for being pretty affordable for a digicam too. FYI, each blind box costs $52 at the authorised retailers in Singapore, while an entire set of 6 blind boxes would set you back $312.
Since they’re digicams, the Charmeras are also super easy to use – there’s no need to develop film rolls, and pictures are easily transferable via a USB-C cable to phones and other devices.
As mentioned, the Kodak Charmeras are hard to cop right now. They’re sold at 3 official retailers in Singapore – iCM Photography, 8storeytree and Pastlanes. As of 23rd June, you can still buy the OG Kodak Charmera series from iCM Photography, and pre-order the new Kodak Charmera Millennium Edition from Pastlanes.

If you want to get your hands on the Charmeras stat, we’ve seen them listed at other retailers and websites for a higher price.
For instance, the cameras are going for $69 at Alan Photo, inclusive of a 64GB MicroSD Card and $79 at Harvey Norman.
There are also multiple listings for them on websites like Carousell, Amazon, Shopee and Lazada, ranging from around $50 to $80.
If you’re planning to order your Charmeras off these sites, do be extra cautious, and be wary of potential scams.

If you’re looking for more dangly charms to add to your bag, the Kodak Charmera may be the coolest bag-cessory on the market right now. It’s also portable and fully functional, so you’ll easily be able to snap grainy y2k pictures everywhere you go.
