So you’ve travelled a bunch and you’ve got an album full of photos to prove it. Rather than storing those photos in your hard drive and rehashing them as story time fodder, you can trade them in for a brand new experience in these five exciting destinations – Japan, Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.

From 16th-18th November, Klook will be setting up a Travel Pawn Shop pop-up at Bugis+ Atrium. The concept is reminiscent of the traditional pawn shops in your own neighbourhood, except you needn’t bring gold or silver to the table – just your mobile phone.

Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Post an old travel memory on Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #klooktravelpawnshop

Upload your fondest memories – it could be a pic of you chillin’ on a hammock in Bali, your snorkelling stint in Cebu, or even a snap of your fave satay stall in Kuala Lumpur.

Step 2: Flash your uploaded photo to receive an entry ticket to the Klook Pawn Shop

Once you’ve posted your photo on your socials, just present it to the staff at the entrance to collect your very own pawn ticket. Alternatively, you may bring a physical photo and flash it for the redemption.

Step 3: Pick a mystery experience from Japan, Korea, Thailand, Taiwan or Hong Kong

Your pawn ticket entitles you to a free mystery experience at five destinations: Japan, Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.

With Klook’s mystery experiences, you can break away from cookie-cutter travel itineraries. Instead of the usual foodie adventures in Thailand for instance, you could learn to cook Thai green curry from local chefs in Bangkok. Other activities include go-karting in Tokyo for free!

The mystery experiences are limited to the first 10,000 visitors to flash their photos and gain entry to the pawn shop – so go early and grab them while you can.

You can also opt to redeem your ticket for Klook credits that can be used to purchase tours, tickets or activities across 250 destinations on the website or the mobile app.

Visitors can also look forward to:

• Hourly flash deals on 17th-18th November from 2-6pm on activities such as Universal Studios Japan, Everland, Ocean Park and more
• An “Ask Klook” booth where staff will be on-hand to answer queries and dispense travel advice
• A “bring a friend” booth – existing Klook users and their new-to-Klook friends can each receive $10 vouchers
