With vivid flashing neon sign boards lining this walkway, Mongkok street is an impressive replication of its original counterpart in Hong Kong. Here, you’ll find provision shops selling old school snacks, Hong Kong food diners, and even a mahjong shop!
We stopped by Legendary Hong Kong to check out their authentic handmade mini egg tarts (3 for $5.40). These were all flaky, buttery goodness with a creamy, eggy center that simply dissolved in our mouths.
Our neighbour across the causeway was also represented – stroll along this nostalgic food street and tuck into dishes like kway chap, curry fish head, and chilli ban mian!
Rustic pushcarts like those of the good ol’ kampong days
If you have a weakness for kuehs or dessert, good news: you’ll also find an alluring assortment of traditional nonya kuehs starting from just $1!
Malaysia Boleh! has also recently been zhng-ed with a new extension, so even if you’ve been here before for their delectable Malaysian food offerings, there are now more stalls to explore, including Zi-Char stall Seafood Restoran Gohtong Jaya for its signature Penang Fish Head and Crispy Marmite Belly Pork!
