With the completion of the RTS Link between JB and Singapore inching ever so close to completion, Johor’s poised to become an even hotter travel destination for Singaporeans. The folks across the border are well aware of this, and so new spots like the KICKS – The Pickle Exchange pickleball facility and The Commune Lifestyle Mall have popped up in recent months to entice the crowds.
If you’re a fellow JB enthusiast, here’s another one to put on your radar. Coinciding with the RTS Link’s completion in late 2026 is the upcoming Horizon Mall. It’s going to be a sprawling 150,000 sqft lifestyle mall in Iskandar Puteri; although the current deets are sparse, here’s what we gathered so far.
The Horizon Mall is an upcoming open concept, lifestyle shopping mall in Iskandar Puteri. Westies can jump for joy, as it’ll be located just a 35-minute drive from the Tuas Checkpoint. Those driving in from the Woodlands Checkpoint will take around 50 minutes to arrive at the mall instead.

If everything goes as planned, the mall is slated to be open in late 2026 to serve the residents of the Horizon Hills township, but of course, the public is free to check it out as well. It will also be right at the doorstep of the Horizon Hills Golf & Country Club that sports an 18-hole golf course, while LEGOLAND Malaysia’s just a 10-minute drive away.

As for what the mall might look like, it’ll be taking on an open-air theme and spruced up with pockets of greenery. If you need something to compare it to, similar malls that you can visit right here on the Little Red Dot include the new WEAVE mall at RWS and Geneo @ Singapore Science Park.
Horizon Mall’s store directory hasn’t quite been finalised yet, but they’ve given us a sneak peek of some of the mall’s confirmed tenants via their Facebook page.
For starters, tea and coffee lovers can look forward to refreshing brews at fan-favourite joints like Chagee, Starbucks, and Cha Tra Mue. Foodies will love the Western and Malaysian fusion cuisine over at Padi House, while those looking to do some grocery shopping at supermarkets in JB can make a stop at the Village Grocer outlet in Horizon Mall.
Singaporeans will absolutely jump at any chance that justifies a cross-border holiday, and with the Horizon Mall set to open for business in about 1.5 years’ time, JB’s looking as attractive as ever. In the meantime, keep yourself occupied with a road trip to Cameron Highlands if you’ve not swung by in a hot minute, or opt for a shorter respite with this 2D1N Kulai itinerary.
But if you’d rather keep your day trips within JB:

Technically, this is the second time Singapore has qualified for the Asian Cup.
This is your call to get up earlier for work.
As if we need another reason to visit the mall.
Look forward to free model-building workshops.
