Spring Blossoms at Gardens by the Bay
We’re already well into the CNY festivities, but that doesn’t mean you’ve got to hang up your fresh fits just yet. If the recent River Hongbao 2025 wasn’t enough to satisfy your IG feed, then we’ve got another picturesque spot nearby for you to flaunt your stuff at.
Clear your SD cards, as the Spring Blossoms: Legend of Lady White Snake exhibit at Gardens by the Bay is also up and running this festive period. From detailed pagodas and pavilions to dahlia displays that bloom in a kaleidoscope of colours, here’s everything you need to know before you head down.
What is GBTB’s Spring Blossoms exhibit?
The Spring Blossom: Legend of Lady White Snake exhibit is a floral display at Gardens by the Bay. Visitors will be able to catch the exhibit when they visit GBTB’s Flower Dome (from $12/adult, $8/child) from now till 23rd February 2025.
The exhibit is themed after the Legend of the White Snake, an age-old Chinese folktale which is centered around the love story of a young man and a female snake spirit. It’s the garden’s first floral display of 2025, and the flowers on feature include various species of dahlia which envelopes the Flower Dome in vivid hues of red, magenta, white, and yellow.
Besides the blooms, the exhibit also houses several structures that borrow inspiration from China’s storied history. These include pagodas, pavilions, and a traditional Chinese garden modelled after those found throughout the country’s imperial dynasties.
By the way, from now till 23rd February 2025, Flower Dome ticket holders and Friends of the Gardens members can enjoy free entry to the ongoing Pagoda Odyssey 1915: From Shanghai to San Francisco exhibition at the Asian Civilisations Museum.

One of the first structures you’ll come across on your visit to the Spring Blossoms exhibit is a rendition of the famous Jixian Pavilion. The original sits near the banks of the West Lake in Hangzhou, but you can save yourself a flight by visiting this one in GBTB. The top of the pavilion is even adorned with pink, orange, and yellow flowers to evoke major spring vibes.

The eagle-eyed can also spot a small replica of the broken bridge which served as a meeting point for the lovers in the Legend of the White Snake. However, this one’s less dilapidated and instead decorated with a bed of white and pink flowers.

Further in, visitors will stumble across the centrepiece of the exhibit; a 4.5m tall sculpture of Madam White Snake herself. This masterpiece was created using mosaiculture, an intricate horticulture art form that uses a myriad of plants to piece together 3-dimensional, living sculptures.

Also, keep an eye out for the delicate dahlias strewn around the sculpture of Madam White Snake. The Rebecca’s World dahlias are especially eye-catching with its 2-toned palette, while the enormous 20-30cm Tartan dahlias are a sight to behold.

Nearby, 2 towering wooden pagodas jut out amidst the greenery. These are on loan from the Asian Civilisation Museum, and one of them is a recreation of the Leifeng Pagoda in Hangzhou. Although much smaller in scale, they’re still majestic nonetheless, considering their status as iconic landmarks in many Chinese myths, literature, and paintings.

On the tail end of the exhibit, visitors will be greeted by models of buildings from yesteryear dressed in CNY decor, as well as a wispy river made of mist flanked by colourful flowers on both banks.

Another photo spot worth stopping by is this stone gate that’s guarded by a pair of fierce stone lions. Take a moment to appreciate the meticulously pruned bonsai trees in the area too, which brings about an air of tranquility to the gardens.
