Gardens by the Bay Children’s Festival 2023

Kids will agree that June might just be the best month of the year. It’s when they can finally take a break from school, not worry about any upcoming exams, and simply let loose. Adding to the list of things to look forward to is the Children’s Festival 2023 at Gardens by the Bay

Happening from 10th-25th June at Supertree Grove, this festival is the place to be for fun and games. Expect scavenger hunts, DIY workshops, and movie screenings, with free entry to the festival. Here’s everything you need to know:

Explore nature-themed play areas & ride a caterpillar train

First things first – the playground. The festival features a whopping 6 zones for kiddos to explore, and each zone revolves around nature. We’re talking giant birds, frogs, and even mushrooms here

Kids can buzz around the Honeycomb Obstacle or get lost in the ball pit at the Poison Dart Frog zone.

There’s also a colourful Mushroom Cluster and a Painted Jezebel butterfly that make for chio photo backdrops.

Children can also hop on the Calvin the Caterpillar train ride (from $10/ticket) for a ride around the festival. The charming critter will loop around the playground and go pass the Supertrees.

You’ll also notice that Calvin the Caterpillar has lost his shoes – uwu. Join the Trail Activity and complete 6 puzzles to help him reclaim his kicks. Kids will have to put on their thinking caps for this as activities include connecting the dots and spotting hidden images.

Join craft workshops & dance classes

DIY workshops

Crafty cats can take part in the DIY workshops too. There are 5 in total, with activities that include designing a mini drum, customising a straw hat, and making an animal-themed keychain. These will be happening at the North Colonnade and you book a slot via the Crafts Activities website

Movies include A Bug’s Life, Bee Movie, and Charlotte’s Web.

Those visiting on 16th and 23rd June can bust a move and join the dance lessons happening at the Supertree Grove Lawn. Whether your kid’s an awkward potato or an aspiring Michael Jackson, instructors will be there to teach and guide. After that, they can cool down and catch a movie – screenings are happening everyday at 6pm, and there’s free popcorn too.

Go on a nature hunt & check out the game booths

While you’re there, be sure to catch the daily live performances by singing duo Two Of Us, magic shows, and fun trivia quizzes about all things nature. Little Einsteins can also participate in the Nature Hunt happening on 25th June where kiddos can score a Little Explorer badge. We won’t give too much away, but it’ll be handy to come armed with some botany wisdom.

game booths

Round off your time at the festival by visiting the 5 game booths. Similarly, these are inspired by flora and fauna. Kids can try their hand at the Honeycomb Smash where they’ll need to knock down as many cans as possible, or test their accuracy at the Caterpillar Toss.

Those with stellar aiming can head to the Wishing Shroom and attempt to hit the bell with a coin.

School’s out, and it’s time to have fun. For those who aren’t taking the bus to Malaysia or visiting gorgeous temples in Bali, consider heading over to Gardens by the Bay to check out the Children’s Festival. You’ll want to set aside a full day here, as there are plenty of games and activities to do.
