Some of these places are in town and you would’ve never guessed that there’s no parking charge. But regardless of where you are in Singapore, this list of places across the island will save you a considerable amount of money.

Your first 2 hours of parking are free at Clarke Quay until 6pm daily, and while this area may be known for its nightlife, there are still plenty of things to do in the day as well. Check out Swee Lee Clarke Quay, a cafe with vinyl-listening stations for a sweet date spot. If you and bae are more adventurous, there’s no reason to pass up on Slingshot Singapore or the GX-5 Extreme Swing for adrenaline fun.

Dempsey Hill has all the makings of a fun day out with your little one in tow. Join a tour at Open Farm Community to learn where food on the table really comes from, then indulge in ice cream and Instagrammable exhibits at the Museum of Ice Cream. They can even make their own chocolate bar at Mr Bucket Chocolaterie. With so much to cover, it’s a good thing parking is free round the clock.

Although ITE College Central is a school campus, members of the public are allowed to enter the school. Some restricted areas are only for student access, but you can use the running track to train for a marathon or get groceries from the Sheng Siong supermarket. There are also many dining options available, but do check if they’re open before heading over.

SG’s Little Thailand at Golden Mile Complex might have closed for good, but you can still head to Aperia Mall to have your fill of Thai snacks and groceries. The Thai Supermarket at Aperia Mall sells made-in-Thailand goods like sauces and instant noodles. There’s even an attached restaurant and snack stalls selling deep-fried bananas and sweet potato balls should you feel peckish halfway through shopping.
Aperia Mall also hosts The Luggage Market, a flea market for thrifters. Grab secondhand and pre-loved clothing and accessories at discounted prices every Sunday from 11am-6pm.

Marina Bay Link Mall is part of By The Bay, a set of buildings including Marina Bay Financial Centre and One Raffles Quay. This underground mall connects you to the other buildings so you can freely walk around the Marina Bay Financial District without going up to ground level. Marina Bay Sands is also only a 10-minute walk away if you’re catching a theatre performance or visiting the Art Science Museum.

Located in the heart of the CBD, you might think that OUE Downtown would be a ghost town on weekends and public holidays. In reality, the mall comes to life on weekends, with eateries and other amenities that you can fill your day with while enjoying free parking. Be part of the weekend CBD crowd and join a bouldering session, visit a chiropractor, or simply enjoy a cup of afternoon coffee.

City Gate might seem like any mixed development complex near the city centre, but there are many things you can do there and in the area. Aside from the eateries, you can enjoy a variety of beauty and wellness services, including pedicures and haircuts. For a unique experience, visit The Denim Store for a wide selection of selvedge denim jeans. Just around the corner from City Gate is Golden Mile Food Centre, offering affordable hawker food and army goods.

If you’re ever visiting friends who live at Bright Hill, Midview City offers free parking daily at various times. This integrated business building is accessible until midnight, so you can hang out till late without worrying about paying for parking. On top of that, you’ll find eateries here such as Shan Cheng for Ipoh delicacies and So Good Char Chan Teng for Hong Kong-style dishes.

Djitsun Mall, AMK doesn’t have an indoor or underground carpark, but an open-air one instead. Though the mall is quite small, it’s within walking distance of other amenities in Ang Mo Kio, including COURTS, Broadway Plaza, and AMK Hub, which can get quite busy on weekends. Consider parking here instead.

Downtown East, best known for Wild Wild Wet, is where it’s at for family-wide fun and entertainment. Outside of the water theme park, your little ones can hang out at Tayo Station – an indoor playground, while you belt out songs at HaveFun Karaoke. Do note that free parking is only available at the Begonia Open Air Carpark behind Downtown East.

Together with Singpost Centre and Paya Lebar Quarters, Paya Lebar Square is one of the malls located right outside Paya Lebar MRT Station. With many eateries, activities, and even cinemas in the 3 malls, you can easily spend an entire day here. But do note that free parking is only available on weekends and public holidays for the 1st hour.

Look forward to shopping for new air fryers, replacing a washing machine, or even purchasing a tablet for yourself – and you can take as long as you like to deliberate, since parking is free all day, every day.

Similar to ITE College Central, ITE College East also offers free parking on Sundays and public holidays. You’re free to visit their canteens and other publicly accessible areas, such as the open-air atrium with seating.

If you’re ever within the Tai Seng area, you can enjoy 1 hour of free parking at BreadTalk IHQ. Aside from eateries such as Food Republic and, of course, BreadTalk, BreadTalk IHQ often hosts festive events and pop-ups that many might not know about. Everyone knows how difficult it is to find parking in Joo Chiat. Instead of parking outside someone’s house along the narrow roads and alleys, enjoy free lunchtime parking at Hotel Indigo Katong. Located above Katong Square, cross the street for a traditional bowl of Katong laksa or a plate of pasta from June Coffee for lunch.

It’s not just IKEA Tampines that has free parking. IKEA Alexandra also gives customers 3 hours of free parking with any purchase made in-store. This might just be a sign for you to check out the newly renovated store, which now has an in-house bakery selling pastries like croissants and muffins.

Here’s a pro-tip for the next time you plan on going shopping at IMM: Plan to hit the stores after lunch and before dinner on weekdays. It’s when crowds are the smallest, so there’s no need to rush to grab that last pair of Adidas sneakers going for half off. Weekdays are also when drivers get an hour of free parking all day.

Located at West Coast, NEWest Mall is a quiet mall away from the busy Clementi area. With everything you’ll expect from a mall, including retail stores, beauty parlours, eateries and enrichment centres, you get 1 hour of free parking from 12pm to 1.30pm on weekdays. Grab lunch here with no parking fees if you work in the ‘hood. We recommend indulging in North Indian food at Peacock or American-style food at Waffletown.

Greenridge Shopping Centre is one of the oldest malls in Bukit Panjang. This quaint neighbourhood mall offers free weekday lunchtime parking from 12pm to 2pm, with dining options including Domino’s Pizza and Kopitiam. Otherwise, soak in the greenery of the area at Pang Sua Pond and Bukit Panjang Neighbourhood Park.

Aside from the annual Chinese zodiac coins, you can also head to the Singapore Mint Coin Gallery to purchase other coins, medals and collectables, including the Pokémon Mystery Medallion Series ($16.90) or a 1oz Merlion in 999 silver ($100). Say you’re hiking Southern Ridges and need a break after spending the day at Henderson Waves. Look no further than the Alkaff Mansion. 888 Plaza is a heartland mall between Woodlands and Admiralty MRT Stations. The mall offers an array of stores, including Elm Tree Books for children’s books, MassagezKaki for a foot massage, and an NTUC supermarket that’s open 24/7.

Whether it’s the school holidays or a weekend where you’ve run out of things to do with the kids, take them to Hay Dairies Goat Farm to play with domestic goats. Just across from Hay Dairies Goat Farm is Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. Here’s where you can have your pick of hiking trails: Coastal Trail, Forest Trail, Mid-Canopy Walk, and Migratory Bird Trail. Each one will have you looking out for wildlife you wouldn’t often see in the concrete jungle of the CBD.

HDB has a Free Parking Scheme (FPS) at selected car parks on Sundays and Public Holidays. Simply look out for the orange sign plate on the main signboard of the car park entrance to know which car parks are under the FPS. Alternatively, you can also use HDB’s Centralised Map to find these car parks.
