5 Ways To Live Healthy And Redeem Rewards Like SQ Tickets & Dining Vouchers

Incentivised workouts for your fitness plan

We’re all accustomed to the notion of having to pay for our dream bodies – usually in the currency of “blood, sweat and tears” and for some of us, actual cash. But even with our multiple gym memberships, yoga packages, and grain bowls, procrastination sometimes still gets the better of us.

Calling all chronic dilly-dalliers – if you haven’t given up chasing the promise of a banging bod at the end of that fitness-rainbow, there’s hope for you. From cash payouts to discounted movie tickets, here are 6 literally rewarding ways to keep you on your journey of fitness:

1. National Steps Challenge™

Forget monetary incentives, a free fitness tracker is a big enough draw for most of us to attempt to live healthier lifestyles. That’s how most of us know of the National Steps Challenge™. The nation-wide initiative by the Health Promotion Board (HPB) gives out free fitness trackers to Singaporeans that can be used to track daily activity. Participants can download the Healthy 365 app to record their steps to accumulate Healthpoints and redeem them for rewards.

On top of redeeming Healthpoints (a.k.a the points you’ll earn), look out for their impressive grand draw prizes, including a pair of Singapore Airlines Business Class tickets and an OSIM uDivine App Massage Chair. Season 3 of the National Steps Challenge has just come to a close, but look out for their 4th installment coming up in October 2018.

2. HealthHub

Here’s another HPB-run initiative that goes one step further to reward your healthy lifestyle choices. HealthHub is a one-stop portal and mobile app for Singaporeans to access healthy living content and gain rewards. Users of the app can even access e-Services to make changes to their medical appointments and view their public health records.

Simple actions such as a completing a quiz and sharing articles/events from the app to your Facebook page can earn you Healthpoints that go towards helping you redeem e-Vouchers* at participating supermarkets, retail and F&B outlets.

3. Flabuless

Sitting at a desk for 8 straight hours is the perfect recipe for beer bellies and muffin tops. Yet, dragging our butts to the gym post-work seems almost as horrifying, especially on tougher days in the office.

That’s where Flabuless comes in. The app is a corporate wellness platform that sets out to engage and motivate entire workplaces to live healthily and prevent workplace obesity.

Employers are roped into the mix and encouraged to organise health screenings, fitness clinics and cooking demonstrations to promote healthy living. Meanwhile, the points you chalk up from daily exercise and participating in the company organised health activities can be exchanged for in-app rewards such as F&B discounts, entertainment vouchers, and even luxury items!

To make things a little more fun and competitive, there’s also a leaderboard for you to see how you rank in comparison to other colleagues.

4. Eat, Drink, Shop, Healthy Challenge

And for those who are already making a conscious effort to have a healthier diet, HPB’s Eat, Drink, Shop, Healthy Challenge lets you gain rewards without having to drastically change your lifestyle.

Simply keep an eye out for receipts with QR codes at HPB’s participating partner outlets islandwide and earn up to 10 Healthpoints per scan. These points can then be used to redeem TransitLink points and e-Vouchers at participating F&B outlets*.

Perfect for those who get their sweat on with some company, the programme groups participants based on their geographic location into groups with a motivator a.k.a personal trainer to guide you on the right and healthy path to weight loss.

There will be free workout sessions held at various locations islandwide on a weekly basis, hundreds of Healthpoints to be redeemed, and up to $5,000 worth of prizes to be snatched up. If you fall between the ages 21-64 and have some extra kilos you’d like to shed, look out for Lose to Win®’s 2019 installment.

*Bonus* FREE $100 worth of credit for new ActiveSG members

While we’re on the topic of exercising for rewards, kickstart your flab to fit journey as an ActiveSG member. The movement for sport is giving every new member $100 worth of credit for FREE which can be used to offset swimming complex and gym admission, programme signups*, booking of ActiveSG sport facilities and more.

*Capped at 30% of the cost for each programme/ activity, no limit on number of programme/ activity sign-ups

Stay healthy and gain rewards

Regardless of whether you’re looking to better manage your weight, justify that plate of char kway teow, or just feel more energised – there are days where we all need a little more motivation to get up and get moving. And this list of incentivised apps will not only help you attain your exercise goals but get some cash savings while you’re at it.
