To get your Vietnamese food fix, head down to IndoChine CHIJMES – they have a 3-course set menu to treat yourself. They have mains like Bun Cha Gio Chay, a rice vermicelli dish with scattered egg rolls and Bun Bo Xao, beef and noodle salad. For the classic Vietnamese lunch, go for their Pho Bo which comes with tender sliced beef, beef balls, all topped off with beef broth.

7. New Ubin Seafood – 2-Course Noodle Set Lunch
Boy, are we glad that restaurant New Ubin Seafood opened their a new branch in CHIJMES – we can now get our bib gourmand zi char cravings satisfied, near our offices. Their 2-course Noodle Set Lunch* comes with a noodle dish that changes daily: Monday for Hokkien Mee Special, Tuesday for KL Hokkien Mee, Wednesday for Old Punggol-Style Mee Goreng, Thursday for Boss Bee Hoon, and Friday for Chye Poh Kway Teow.
Our favourite’s the Hokkien Mee Special since it has a rich seafood stock with pork broth that’s been stir-fried with pork belly, baby squid, and clams – the entire dish is laced with wok hei flavour too.
The meal includes one scoop of handmade ice cream and a glass of lime juice.
