12 Golf Courses In Singapore Including Country Clubs & Driving Ranges

Golf courses in Singapore

The thought of playing golf may scream “atas sport” to many because of its fancy equipment and country club memberships. But, even for those who’ve only had experience playing a casual game of mini golf, it can still be pretty accessible thanks to public golf courses in Singapore with onsite equipment rental.

Alternatively, check out golf simulators for a realistic yet comfortable and budget-friendly golf experience!

What equipment do I need for golf?

While many of the golf courses on this list provide equipment rental, those who are ready to commit to the hobby should consider getting a set of basic golf equipment so they can save on rental fees.

Here are a few of the basic equipment you need to get started:

  • Gloves: to keep a firm grip on the club and to protect your hands from blisters.
  • Shoes: you’ll need cleated shoes that don’t damage the turf but provide traction so that you can keep good form when swinging.
  • Bag: to store your golf equipment
  • Golf balls: this should be pretty self explanatory. You can also rent these at golf courses.
  • Tees: this is what you put your golf ball on. They look like a large nail and are usually made of wood or plastic, and are painted bright colours.
  • Clubs: what goes into a beginner golf set can vary, but they often consist of around 7 clubs, including a putter, a pitching wedge, a sand wedge, a driver, a 5-iron, 7-iron and 9-iron.

Golfing doesn’t have to be an expensive sport, not when you get all your equipment on Amazon Singapore. You get to enjoy $10 off minimum $60 spend for Black Friday, and Amazon Prime members get free delivery.

What to wear for golf in Singapore

For men, a classic collared polo tee and khaki-style trousers or shorts will suffice. If you opt for shorts, make sure the length sits just above your knee.

As for women, short-sleeved and sleeveless collared tops are commonly available. You can pair these with similar khaki-style shorts, or, alternatively, go with a chic golf skort for a more feminine look. There are also golf dresses if you don’t like the hassle of coordinating.

With the hot and sunny weather in Singapore, you might also want to consider getting a cap or visor to provide some shade for your eyes on the green.
