The concept they have at the restaurant is very unique, I was pretty amazed when I first went in. I would have to say that the food there is pretty okay for me. I like their chicken wings, but not their meatballs, and especially not their spaghetti. Their spaghetti is pretty much tasteless. Mushroom soup there is not too bad. My brother loves their meatballs and chicken wings though, so I guess it is up to individual preference. But it really gets to you after eating a few times at IKEA within a short period of time. Their menu is very much limited, there's only a few dishes which is quite a pity.

Although the space is quite big, but it is still filled with many people, making it very hard to find seats, especially when you are not alone and it gets very noisy. Not a place that I would go just for the food, but only when I’m shopping at IKEA.

The three times that I've eaten at Ikea only that I've had were the Swedish Meatballs. The copious servings of meatballs comes with sides of potatoes topped up with gravy and jam on the side. Its a personal preference but I always eat my meatballs with lots of mustards. On a gastronomical standpoint I'm not sure if its the best combination, but what the heck, I like it.

The meatballs are that super, and other than that, there was nothing much that I found to be very compelling. On top of that, the queues can get extremely long sometimes. It's definitely not a place that I will go specifically for, but I doubt that's what Ikea set up the place for anyway. That being said, if I was shopping at Ikea, I would much rather have their super cheap and value-for-money hotdogs and ice cream.

I used to like my visits to IKEA Tampines when it was first opened. At that time, it was still easy to find seats and the queue for the food was not that long.

I just visited IKEA Tampines a few weeks ago. My memory of the place was totally changed. I was not able to get a table and the staff there were not fast enough to clear away empty tables so the whole atmosphere looked worst than a hawker center with tables stacked up with dirty trays and empty plates.

Also, the food quality was not as good as I remembered. I believed the serving was also getting smaller. The free coffee was also not as fragrant because they came out with a premium version of coffee which you needed to pay. Given the price of the food, there should be a lot of better places to have a meal.

My friends laughed at me one day when I said I have never tried the legendary meatballs from Ikea. I went there with high expectations, expecting springy meatballs. However, the portions for the meatballs were pathetic. They oddly shaped and were extremely mushy! I don’t think meatball are supposed to taste like that. Maybe they used to taste awesome when they first started out, but definitely not in 2012! I like one of their meals, can’t exactly remember the name, but it’s a dory fish with some kind of cheesy filling in it. That was good. Price was reasonable. Tried their cakes for dessert and it really wasn’t to my liking. It was too sweet and after taking one mouth, you just felt like throwing away the rest of it. Yes, it was that bad. I think having to pay such prices for food that’s already precooked and placed in containers ready to be spooned onto our plates, just isn’t being justifiable.

Also, they no longer provide free take aways, what a pity! Drinks were so so, cups were small and there was nof free flow of drinks. Would be good if there was such a thing to make up for the price. If you have the ikea card with some banks, you get to enjoy certain privileges and discounts. I think it is standard chartered bank..
