You’re The Boy Tribute Music Video

b2ap3_thumbnail_YTB5.pngBy now, you must have seen the short film titled, “You’re The Boy”, which was produced as part of this year’s #SG50 Celebrations. Named after a hit song by 60s band, Shirley Nair & The Silver Strings, the heart-warming film was adapted from the band’s real-life story. Yes, a local band really penned this amazing song.

We were so taken by the film and the timelessness of the song that we decided to have our talented friend Sara Elouisa cover it with the rest of our TSL team doing the production. We also felt that a tribute to Shirley Nair & The Silver Strings wouldn’t be complete without an accompanying music video. After all, in the 60s there weren’t any videos being made for songs and we want the song to get the true airplay it deserves.

In this music video, we try to imagine what the video would have been like if it was made in this day.

A big thanks to Sara Elouisa, who was also the voice for our Bak Chor Mee video. And a special thanks to Kombi Rocks Diner for allowing us to use their premises to help capture that nostalgia perfect for this vintage-inspired project. Lastly, thank you to Shirley Nair & The Silver Strings and the Oglivy team for creating the wonderful SG50 video which helped us discover the song.

Happy #SG50 Singapore!
