This 20-Year-Old Is Walking Every MRT Line in SG, Join His Next North-South Line Trek On 25th September

Trevor Kam community MRT line walks

Most of us would consider the walk between an MRT station and the nearest bus stop enough cardio for the day. Trevor Kam, meanwhile, has been casually walking entire MRT lines across Singapore.

The 20-year-old “competitive MRT walker” has already conquered routes as long as 57km, sometimes spending up to 16 hours on his feet. His next target is the North-South Line (NSL), which he plans to tackle on 25th September 2026.

Who is Trevor Kam & why is he walking every MRT line in SG?

Trevor Kam is a Singapore Permanent Resident with Australian citizenship who is currently waiting to enlist for National Service. He has dubbed himself a “competitive MRT walker”, and his goal is pretty straightforward: walk the length of every MRT line in Singapore within a day.

It all ties into his love for side quests, AKA random adventures, that make everyday life a little less mundane. Trevor has said that he is often told there are no activities to do in Singapore, so he has made it his personal mission to make the country more exciting and enjoyable.

His side quests aren’t limited to putting his legs through hell either. He has previously learnt to breakdance, sung in front of an audience of 400 people, taken ice baths, and pranked people during Halloween by knocking on their doors.

Before becoming a full-time content creator, Trevor worked for a media company in video content creation. He now documents his adventures online, on Instagram and TikTok. As of writing, he has 5,378 Instagram followers and 3,439 TikTok followers, with his sights set on reaching 10,000 followers by the end of 2026.

He started with a 25.1km walk along the North East Line

Trevor’s MRT walking saga kicked off on 7th August 2026, when he followed the North East Line (NEL) route. He covered 25.1km in 5 hours and 2 minutes, clocking more than 30,000 steps in the process.

The NEL trek was the shortest of the routes he had planned at the time. While his friend Bryan Kow, a culinary student who helps Trevor map the walks, was supposed to join him, he wasn’t feeling well that day, leaving Trevor to solo the route.

Next came the Circle Line (CCL) later that month. This time, Bryan joined Trevor for the 47.19km journey, which took them 10 hours and 6 minutes and resulted in more than 67,000 steps.

It wasn’t exactly a seamless stroke. The pair somehow found themselves lost while walking from Caldecott to Botanic Gardens and ended up on the perimeter of Bukit Brown Cemetery. They had to quickly make a detour after spotting a warning sign against trespassing.

Trevor also had to contend with a 90-minute toilet break because of an upset stomach, plus an unexpected phone charging break at one-north so he could continue filming the journey.

50 people joined his 48km Downtown Line walk

Things got considerably bigger for his next challenge. On 21st August 2026, Trevor set off to conquer the Downtown Line (DTL), beginning his walk from Bukit Panjang MRT station at 7am.

The route covered roughly 48km and took him around 16 hours to complete. This time, the trek had evolved from a 2-man side quest into a community walk-a-thon. Prior to his walk, he made a post on his Instagram, encouraging folks to join him on his endeavour, with around 50 people joining Trevor on the big day.

Participants didn’t have to commit to the entire route either. They could join or leave the group at different stations, rest when needed, and even rejoin the walk later.

Participants even turned up in blue to match the DTL’s colour scheme.

Trevor has stressed that participants should go at their own pace rather than push themselves beyond their limits. After all, his own MRT adventures have previously left him with muscle aches, blisters and foot pain.

Over 80 people joined his longest walk yet along the TEL

Trevor levelled up again on 4th September 2026, this time taking on the Thompson East Coast Line (TEL). The trek stretched for around 57km and took approximately 16 hours, making it his longest MRT line walk yet, and more than 80 people in total joined in on the fun.

The growing community surrounding these walks has also spilled over onto Telegram. Trevor runs a channel called Sidequests Central, which has amassed a little over 1,800 followers as of writing.

The channel is where followers can keep tabs on his adventures and upcoming side quests, making what started as Trevor’s personal challenge a surprisingly large community affair.

Join Trevor’s North-South Line walk on 25th September

Next up on Trevor’s MRT hit list is the North-South Line (NSL), with the walk scheduled for Friday, 25th September 2026. As with his previous community walks, those interested can get all the deets via his Instagram or TikTok pages, or check out his Telegram channel for updates on the route and timings closer to the walk.

There’s no need to walk the entire MRT line to participate either. Trevor’s previous walks have allowed people to hop in and out along the route, so you can join for a few stations without sacrificing your legs to the MRT gods.

Just remember that these aren’t your average evening strolls. For long-distance walks, it is advised to check whether you are medically fit to carry out this endeavour, and remember to wear light UV-protective clothes and stay properly hydrated.

Support Trevor on his MRT Line walks

Trevor still has the imposing East-West Line (EWL) to conquer before completing his quest. But what began with one guy walking the NEL has already turned into groups of dozens roaming around Singapore, chatting away and making new friends along the way.

Maybe Singapore isn’t boring. Sometimes, you just need to escape from the air-conditioned indoors and put your stompers to good use.
