Train Pod @ one-north
New hotels are constantly popping up, from pet-friendly hotels to ones that are perfect for Hen’s nights. Adding to the ever-growing list of hotels in Singapore is the Train Pod @ one-north, a co-living train hotel in LaunchPad @ one-north.
You read that right – you’ll be staying in a train cabin, but that’s nothing unfamiliar to us since we’re used to spending hours commuting on the MRT. We headed down for a sneak peak of the quirky accommodation; here’s all you need to know about it before bookings open in the coming months.
Where is the Train Pod @ one-north located?
This co-living hotel is the brainchild of local company Tiny Pod. They’re also the ones running similarly pint-sized accommodations, such as the Garden Pod at GBTB and the Shipping Container Hotel in one-north and Haw Par Villa.

As for the Train Pod @ one-north, Tiny Pod has fashioned an unoperated SMRT train cabin into living spaces – yes, an actual decommissioned train that you might’ve boarded on your daily commutes.
This gem can be found at the carpark next to Block 69 Ayer Rajah Crescent – so not at an actual train station, mind you. It’s a short 7-minute walk from one-north MRT, and situated next to Timbre+ One North.
What amenities will be available at Train Pod @ one-north?

The Train Pod @ one-north houses 8 rooms in total, each measuring about 7.5sqm. Although they’re not as roomy as your conventional hotel room, they’ve still managed to squeeze in an en suite bathroom and a flat screen TV, plus a bunk bed that sleeps up to 2 guests. The rooms are also air-conditioned and equipped with WiFi.
It took 8 months and about $300,000, to turn the train carriage donated by SMRT into another one of Tiny Pod’s cosy abodes.

Of course, the main gimmick of this transport-themed stay is the fact that it’s contained within a decommissioned MRT carriage. For train enthusiasts, the carriage was part of a 3rd-generation Kawasaki-Nippon Sharyo C751B train, which chugged on the North-South and East-West Lines from 2000 to 2024.

Other thoughtful details include all-too-familiar MRT maps, emergency communication buttons, and decals of SMRT’s iconic the Thoughtful Bunch characters, like Stand-Up Stacy and Bag Down Benny.

For those who’ve booked the front cabin of the carriage, your room comes with a genuine train conductor’s control panel to meddle around with. Meanwhile, stays in the back cabin come bundled with access to a small balcony beside an emergency exit door.
There’s a washing machine and dryer available outside too.

Outside the carriage, there are also a couple of repurposed train seats, for when you’d like to take your meals al fresco. Food-wise, you can grab Halal-certified meals, snacks, and drinks from the 24/7 Chef-in-Box vending machines. Otherwise, dabao grub from the nearby Timbre+ One North food park.

Train Pod @ one-north hasn’t quite opened its doors to accept visitors yet, but we’ve gotten word that they should be all up and running in the second half of 2025.
Also, details on room rates aren’t firmed up, but expect prices to float around $80-$90/night for weekday bookings, while weekend stays range from $100-$120/night, excluding GST. As such, a staycay here wouldn’t break the bank, so do consider spending a night or 2 here; after all, you won’t get any nasty stares if you fall asleep in this MRT cabin.
