July may mark the end of the holiday szn, but it also marks the start of the second half of 2023. If the year has been a lil meh for you thus far, take this as a sign of new beginnings, new opportunities, and of course, new things to do so you can make the most of the next 6 months.
You can look forward to exhilarating activities such as the Stranger Things exhibition, Lego x BTS collab, and durian workshops.

Thrillseekers, here’s something for you. Slingshot has debuted next to Clarke Quay’s iconic GX-5 Extreme Swing. Hop aboard and it’ll catapult you 70m into the air at 160km/h – that’s 3 times the speed limit for cars in Singapore, FYI.
It’s crowned “the tallest catapultic ride” in Asia, so you’ll be signing up for 3 minutes of 360-degree turns and stomach drops. To bring some of the thrill back home with you, consider purchasing a video of yourself on the ride for $20 – all for the mems.

You don’t need Permission to Dance at Lego x BTS Dynamite Experience – you just need to have the moves in your DNA.
For those who can’t wait to show off their smooth-like-butter pops and locks, you can head to the dance off experience at Record Discovery Zone immediately. There will also be a stage lined with Lego figurines of the members standing at about 1.2m tall, so show off your “smooth like butter” poses as you snap pictures with them.

When Golden Mile Complex announced its closure, we thought that would mark the end of all the authentic mookata, tom yum soup, and all things Thai in SG. Fortunately, most tenants managed to relocate, including Thai Supermarket.
At its new location in Aperia Mall, the supermarket makes a comeback with sleeker interiors and equally delicious snacks. There are also 5 new food stalls within the supermarket. These include Yung Yung, where you can buy famous yaowarat buns (from $3) with sweet fillings.
You can also expect Thai fritters such as Sweet Potato Balls ($5/12 pieces) and Thai Yam Chips (from $4) from Talad Thai Banana, just 2 stalls down from Yung Yung.
Plethora of instant noodles from Thailand.

You actually don’t need expensive equipment and bougie telescopes to be an aspiring astronomer in Singapore. You can literally view a Supermoon with your naked eye this month. If you’re wondering what a Supermoon is, it’s a phenomenon that occurs when the moon orbits closest to Earth. It will then appear bigger and brighter, even without any special equipment.
This year, there’ll be 4 of them appearing in our night skies – and the first one, named the “Buck Moon”, will rise on 3rd July 2023 at 7.13pm before reaching peak height at 1.25am.
Technically, it will be visible from anywhere as long as the sky is unobstructed. If you’d like the best views, we advise you to camp somewhere in the east, such as East Coast Park and the Southern Ridges.
Supermoon dates:
3rd July 2023: Buck Moon
1st August 2023: Sturgeon Moon
31st August 2023: Blue Moon
29th September 2023: Harvest Moon

Though not everyone can be a pilot, anyone can live their pilot dreams through Air Combat, Sentosa’s new virtual reality experience. You’ll be taken on a ride in a fighter jet’s cockpit, cruising along as you experience the POV of a pilot through 6 different movements – Heave, Sway, Surge, Pitch, Roll, and Yaw.
The ride lasts for 8 minutes and can accommodate up to 8 guests at once. You can even ride with your kiddos as long as they are above 12 years old. However, for those who are sensitive to symptoms of motion sickness, it’s best to pop an anti-nausea pill before the ride or just watch from the sidelines.
