Anyone who has been to Sentosa over the last few months would have noticed some serious construction works going on. Yeah, loud drilling and clunky machinery on the beach ain’t fun. But beach bums, you’ll be happy to know that something cool has been brewing. Enter: The Palawan @ Sentosa.
We’re talking beach clubs, an indoor go-karting circuit, mini-golf experiences, and a dog run – just to name a few. Here’s the lowdown:
Table of Contents
The Palawan @ Sentosa is worth the trip down for families, groups of friends, and couples. Even furkids are welcome to join in the fun. There’s a dog run for pups to run about. They’re also allowed in selected areas at +Twelve beach club and at The Palawan Food Trucks.
If you’re in need of a chill afternoon with food and drinks, head up the 3 new beach clubs. There’s more dining options at The Palawan Food Trucks too. Otherwise, thrillseekers can race go-karts at HyperDrive or climb obstacles in the sea at HydroDash.
There’s no separate entry fee to visit The Palawan @ Sentosa, however, you do have to pay to enter Sentosa. Admission costs between $0-$6, depending on what mode of transport you take. The Sentosa Shuttle Bus Service is free to board, while cars coming in – including taxis and private hire vehicles – will need to pay $2 or $6 per vehicle that enters the island.
Once you’re in Sentosa, you’ll just need to make your way to Palawan Beach. If you’re taking the Sentosa Express or driving in, look out for Beach Station. It’s the nearest stop and car park to The Palawan @ Sentosa. Car park rates are $1.20/hour from 7am-5pm, and $2.40/entry from 5.01pm-6.59am.
If you’re riding the free shuttle, look out for Palawan West, Opp Palawan Kidz City, or Palawan Kidz City bus stops to reach The Palawan @ Sentosa easily.
Swim-up pool bar.
We have Ola Beach Club, Tanjong Beach Club, and Rumours Beach Club to help satiate that Bali wanderlust. Now, there’s a new kid on the block for those of us who simply can’t get enough.
Poolside Daybed.
+Twelve has everything you’d expect including an infinity edge pool and swim-up bar. It’s got beach daybeds and poolside lounges, but if you’re looking for drippin’ luxury, they also have 12 cabanas, each with a private pool. Talk about shiok.
Private cabana.
Enjoy live DJ music, and seafood like Dynamite Shrimp ($27) and Spicy Ahi Tuna Roll ($30). Of course, there are beverages as well with beer from $14, and cocktails from $21. This hang is recommended for adults above 18, but if you’ve got kids, there’s the family-friendly Splash Tribel.
Dine in your private pool.
If you’ve got little ones in tow, Splash Tribe beach club might be more up your alley than the other adults-only beach clubs here. Splash buckets, water spray jets, and tube slides – they’ve got them all. The sandcastle-themed water playground will keep them occupied while the adults catch a break in the infinity-edge pool facing Palawan Beach.
Gazebo.
You’ve got plenty of seats to choose from here including dining tables, and in-water sun loungers. But the gazebo’s probably your coolest bet, featuring a private 2-storey space you can call your own. Come with up to 7 people for birthday celebrations, get-togethers, or even family reunions. Each has a hammock, couch, baby chair, and even sofa bed on the top floor for sunbathing.
Don’t worry about your phone running out of battery or data either since they have power sockets and free WiFi.
Refuel with everything from cocktails and mocktails to sliders and seafood. The menu’s extensive and you’ll probably find something to satisfy the growling tummy – salads are also available if you don’t want a food baby! Just be sure to make an online booking in advance to secure a slot, especially if you’re visiting on the weekends.
If you are still mourning over the closure of Holey Moley, head to UltraGolf, where you can flex your sick swings to your friends, or your cute date.
Put – or, should we say, putt – your skills to the test at this 1,900sqm, 18-hole outdoor course by the sea. They’ve got 2 tee positions catered to both beginners and advanced players, with tickets priced from just $15/pax if you come at the right time.
HyperDrive is an indoor electric go-kart circuit that’s gamified so you’ll feel like you’re in an Super Mario video game. Not to mention, it’s the first of its kind in Asia. Much like Mario and Luigi, you’ll be able to collect digital weapons or boosts to rush headfirst to the finishing line.
Race your friends to complete the 3-level neon-lit racetrack with 14 twists and turns. For the little ones, there are also junior go-karts available. Have we mentioned there’s a cafe you can refuel at after as well?
HydroDash has been around for a while but it’s now part of The Palawan @ Sentosa family. If it doesn’t ring a bell, here’s the deal: it’s an obstacle course made up of inflatable floats. It’s almost like the TV game show WipeOut, but this one has a zone just for kids, so they don’t have to miss out on all the fun.
