Notable IT Show Booths

Here is a list of notable booths similar to our NATAS fair guide. Positions relative to the map above or if you’re coming in from the main entrance / MRT. Sure you can go through all the price lists above if you’re looking for IT hardware but here is a list of the other interesting booths at the fair.

  • A.C.Ryan (B2 Extreme Middle Left) – Complete your home entertainment system with a HD Network player that connects your TV to your PC / NET to stream movies. $30-$60 discounts.
  • Garmin (B2 Middle Left) – The most popular GPS in Singapore have most models under $200 and the increasingly popular HD driving recorders starting at $199
  • Motorhead phones (B2 Middle Left) – Yes, a product from that famous American rock band! The first time it debuts in a Singapore IT show, brought it by their distributor. There are sound booths to test the quality of these headsets.
  • Armaggeddon (B2 Front Center) – Armaggeddon has a really cool set up with live streamed games.
  • Playcraft (B2 Front Extreme Right) – Big gaming area where you can test out Xbox 360’s kinectic on two machines.
  • Check out OSIM (B2 Middle Left) and OTO (B2 Middle Right) if you’re looking to take a break from all that shopping! Take a rest and get a massage at the same time. OTO currently has a close to 2k+ discount off their 5.8k chair and it also comes with a free office chair – the high quality $600 type.

The three main ISPs – Singtel, M1 and Starhub cover heaps of floor space and their mobile and broadband deals come with bundles that include “free” laptops, tablets, MACs, Alienwares and cameras depending on the subscription package you choose. All of starhub’s bundles seem to be from Samsung products. Expect very long queues if you do not go down early. If you’re looking at fastest broadband speed ViewQuest is probably the way to go with their fiber broadband speed being over twice the next highest in Singapore.

If you’re looking for laptops ignore all the major pricey brands at the front and make a beeline straight to arguably the hottest Singapore tech brand at the moment. Their laptops carry similar or better specs than major brands but retail up to 50% cheaper. Its no surprise they have picked up a cult like following in Singapore already.

The MUST VISIT booth

AftershockPC is a award winning homegrown Singapore custom laptop company that just last month had beaten the likes of international powerhouses Alienware and Razor to clinch the Straits Times Digital Life editors choice award for Best Gaming Laptop. They aren’t on the general price lists because they have their own niche in custom laptops, but they are the must check out booth at this IT show. They have special packages just for this show where you can save hundreds of dollars depending on which model you are getting. They even have insane top up deals for accessories, the one that caught my eye was the Plantronics headset that you can get at just $70, instead of the $149 market price.

Of course you can test the laptops on site yourself to find out what all the hype is about. Their tiny x11 which is slightly bigger than a Xbox controller has no problem running the latest high performance games. It is basically more powerful than must laptops but it comes in the size of a netbook. A must see to believe!

I bought my very own x17 laptop from aftershock, so perhaps I am biased because I think they are fantastic. What’s more, they are a home grown Singapore company that have out performed the top international like Razer and Alienware to win the Digital Life Editor’s Choice award for best laptop.
