Shipping Container Hotel at one-north

Within the last few years, staycations have fast become the staple activity for all special events from birthdays to anniversaries. For those who have ticked off Marina Bay Sands and Sentosa’s many resorts and are looking for somewhere new and exciting for your next 2D1N getaway, look no further than the Shipping Container Hotel at one-north.

“Invisible” hotel with tiny home living concept

You won’t be the only one enamoured by some of the recent hotels in Singapore that have rocked the  “tiny home living” concept. Chances are, we’ve all heard of SG Hotels On Wheels and Shipping Container Hotel at Haw Par Villa. Some of us may have even rushed to book a night’s stay just to experience the unique concept firsthand.

Enter Shipping Container Hotel’s newest addition at one-north. Take the idea of an eye-catching hotel, give it a 180-degree spin, and you’ll land on its intriguing “invisible” exterior. Not your everyday B&B, Singapore’s latest hotel has an exterior made out of mirrors that reflects its surroundings.

While the front has a patio that can give its little secret away, the back is basically Harry Potter’s magic cloak. Passersby might not even realise that they’ve walked past a whopping 40ft container.

A container hotel may not suggest the most spacious of staycations, so you’ll probably be surprised to discover that the interior of this is anything but cramped.

It’s fully kitted out with a kitchen, bedroom with a king-size bed and bathroom equipped with a snazzy standalone bathtub. The living room area also comes with a hidden queen-size bed you can pull down when it’s time to snooze.

In fact, there’s enough room to fit 4 adults comfortably, with space to spare if you need to add on an extra mattress for an additional guest.

Despite its off-grid appearance, there’s electricity, WiFi and Netflix so you can chill within the hotel room all day if that’s your idea of a perfect getaway.

For those who decide to leave the hidden enclave, Timbre+ is just a stone’s throw away for some nosh and one-north MRT station across the road. You may want to think twice before ordering a food delivery service, lest your delivery gets mega-confused at the obscure location.

“Where’s your hotel”
“It’s invisible lol”

As there’s only one “invisible” room available, be sure to book in advance if you’d like to secure this specific room type. For those who’d prefer a different aesthetic, Shipping Container Hotel also has another cosy container room located around the corner, of a rusty orange facade, with similar room amenities and rates.

Book a room in Singapore’s first “invisible hotel”

A hotel is now much more than a functional place to spend the night, with its “cool factor” the cherry on top that draws many of us in, like moths to a flame. If you’re looking for something to wow your other half, or an activity that’s sure to enthral the kids during the March school holidays, Shipping Container Hotel at one-north may be your best bet.

While it hasn’t been announced how long the hotel will be around for, bookings are now available from now till 30th June 2022.
