Score Good Karma This Year By Donating Your Extra Mobile Data To Those In Need With GOMO

Donate your data with GOMO

Mobile plans these days have so much data that you can watch all the YouTube and TikTok videos your heart desires without having to rely on WiFi. Even then, the odds are good you’ll have a fair bit of data leftover when the month comes to a close.

Rather than let it go to waste, GOMO users can donate it to those who might need it more than you do. Here’s how you can help make a difference to help them stay connected to their loved ones.

How to donate your extra mobile data

GOMO users can donate their extra data easily through their GOMO Singapore App (GOMO Singapore on Android | GOMO Singapore on iOS) in a few easy steps:

  1. Check how much data you have left
  2. Click on “Donate my data”
  3. Scroll down and select “Donate 5GB Data”
  4. Tap on “Donate Now” when it pops up

Each donation will take 5GB of your data off your quota, and you can do this however many times you want, so long as you have at least 6GB of data in your plan.

GOMO will donate the contributed data in the form of Prepaid hi! SIM cards to seniors from beneficiary organisations.

Who does the donated data benefit?

To kickstart the launch of this movement, GOMO is partnering with social enterprise NTUC Health to help vulnerable seniors at their 13 senior activity centres stay connected to the Internet.

With the added access to the digital world, these seniors will be able to connect virtually with their families and friends a lot more conveniently. It’ll also let them catch up on their favourite TV dramas and attend all the e-getai shows that happen on Facebook without feeling FOMO.

Pay it forward with GOMO

Reaping in good karma points doesn’t necessarily require you to scramble for free time to volunteer. Sometimes, all you have to do is to pay it forward, and GOMO’s Data Donation feature lets you do just that from your fingertips.

Besides, for those of us with plenty of extra data leftover – especially if we’re working from home with WiFi 24/7 – it wouldn’t hurt to help out disadvantaged seniors who often fall through the cracks. By donating our extra data, we can help bridge the digital divide between us and the beneficiaries.
