Royal Caribbean SG-MY Cruises Finally Resume In June, Getaways From S$279

Royal Caribbean cruises to Malaysia

We all remember the saga that Ms Rona unleashed upon international travel. There was a stopper on all cruise trips. Then came the substitutionary Cruises to Nowhere – which we all went gaga over, sure. But here is something you’d want to know for upcoming vacation plans.

From 30th June 2022 onwards, Royal Caribbean will be kickstarting Singapore-Malaysia cruises – a first in two years.

3D2N and 4D3N are both available, both stopping by Penang and Port Klang, located near Kuala Lumpur. During the journey, you can sign up for shore excursions to Penang attractions such as St George’s Church, as well as KL’s Batu caves.

Bid bon voyage to your friends as you board Royal Caribbean’s latest cruise in Singapore, the Spectrum of the Seas. Families can look forward to their signature 2-level suite which comes complete with an in-room slide, while adrenaline junkies can try a bounce on Asia’s first VR bungee trampoline on board.

The iFly ride, panoramic pools at the Solarium and bumper cars will be available, among plenty of other amenities – read more in our review of the Spectrum of the Seas.

Where there aren’t too many restrictions to look out for, travellers need to tick off the usual Malaysia travel requirements: having a passport with at least 6 months validity and the latest version of the MySejahtera app downloaded. You’ll also need to qualify for the local vaccination requirements which can be found on My Safe Travel.

A supervised ART test will also be required before departure.

Journey to Malaysia on the Royal Caribbean

Malaysia has way more to offer other than shopping and massages in JB. As much as you may love those, try a journey to Malaysia via a cruise – one thing’s for sure, there won’t be any causeway jams to avoid!

According to Royal Caribbean’s website, prices now start from as low as a super-affordable $279/night for a 3D2N sail and $378/night for a 4D3N sail, though this may vary depending on prevailing promotions. Be sure to book soon to snag the best price.
