Chinatown Point’s GoGreen Market

Post Christmas and CNY-shopping, it’s perhaps time to clean out your cupboards and clear some space before the Great Singapore Sale hits. If you’re wondering what to do with your old stuff, why not get something back from them? Head to the GoGreen Market by REFASH at Chinatown Point and sell them for shopping vouchers so you can, well, buy more stuff.

Sell your old clothes to REFASH for shopping vouchers

Headed by REFASH, who are Singapore’s largest on- and offline, secondhand fashion retailer, you can expect to both buy and sell pre-loved clothes at this event.

For those of you who’ve never heard of REFASH, consider this your introduction to how it works: typically, you have to drop off your clothes at selected stores, or arrange for a courier to pick them up from you. Then, the items would be evaluated, whereupon you would be made an offer, which you could accept in cash terms or store credits. This process usually takes up to 60 working days.

At the GoGreen Market, your clothes will be evaluated on the spot, saving you the up-to-60-day waiting time.

You’ll be paid out in shopping vouchers, with a GoGreen Market exclusive of a guaranteed $10 in shopping vouchers for 5 accepted pieces.

You can use these vouchers in the mall at the following 6 stores: FairPrice, Mdm Yap’s Cafe, Paris Baguette, Starbucks, Amps Tea, and Decathlon.

All of the pre-loved clothes that are handed over to REFASH during the GoGreen Market will be added to a transparent box in the atrium, so you can see how much clothing has been saved from the landfills━saving water, reducing harmful carbon dioxide and all in all, doing a small bit to reduce our ecological footprint.

Celebrate Earth Hour at Chinatown Point

ICYMI, Earth Hour is happening this 23rd March at 8.30pm. To mark the occasion, Chinatown Point will be switching off some non-essential lights, including in the common areas and on the building facade, for 60 minutes. If you’re joining the celebration from home, consider turning off your lights to do your part, too.

Go green with Chinatown Point

Earth Hour may only be a single hour in the grand scheme of things, but the tenants at Chinatown Point are helping to make a difference this month too. Bring your own mug to Paris Baguette to enjoy $0.50 off when you buy a drink, or $0.30 off your bubble tea at Woobbee.

Be the coolest BBT drinker around when you opt to have your drink in a complimentary recycled Pi Pa Koa bottle, and pay $0.30 less too.

Over at Lenskart, you won’t get any discounts, but you’ll be passing on your pre-loved eyewear to charity partners who’ll make sure they go to people who need it.

Spend & redeem exclusively designed merch

While you’re at Chinatown Point, whatever you’re spending could also get you something pretty in return. Think: unique dining mats and 3-in-1 travel organisers, printed with designs created by artists from The Art Faculty.

What is The Art Faculty about, you may ask? They’re a social enterprise by the Autism Resource Centre here in Singapore that helps artists on the autism spectrum sell their artworks and products for royalties, enabling them to reach financial independence.

Spend a minimum of $288 in a maximum of 3 same-day receipts, between 15th March and 30th April, to redeem one of 4 gorgeous dining mats, exclusively designed by artists from The Art Faculty. Do note that you’ll have to spend $328 if you’re using receipts from Melaleuca and Super Travels.
