If you’ve got gaps in your calendar, you’re in luck. No, we’re not suggesting you fill your time with boring things to do in Singapore – it’s quite the opposite. For those that had missed PLAYFEST 2024 at Tiong Bahru Plaza, fret not. It will be happening at Hougang Mall and Waterway Point from now till 22nd September 2024.
There’ll be an array of scrumptious F&B stalls, kid-friendly games, and fun activities like face painting and balloon sculpting available. We know you’re curious. Scroll on to find out more:
Ready yourselves for a time of fun as PLAYFEST 2024 will be happening at 3 malls around Singapore. Depending on where’s convenient for you, you can visit Hougang Mall from 9th-15th September, and Waterway Point from 16th-22nd September.
Put your (steady) hands up if you’re a Jenga king or queen. If stability is your middle name, then the Giant Jenga is your game. As the name suggests, you’ll be challenged to remove big pieces of Jenga blocks without causing the tower to collapse. Team up with up to 4 family members for the challenge.
Everyone’s a winner here – each participant will get a $5 FRx gift card for playing. But the top 2 teams will score the biggest prize: a $200 FRx gift card for the winner and a $100 FRx gift card for the runner-up.
PLAYFEST tokens.
After flexing your skills at Giant Jenga, it’s time to flaunt your eagle eyes. There’ll be a Spot and Win challenge happening at each mall, and you’ll have to find a specific person at a fixed timing that fits the given description to get PLAYFEST tokens. Hints can be found on the social media pages of Tiong Bahru Plaza, Hougang Mall, and Waterway Point.
So what are the tokens for, you may ask. You can use tokens that you have earned at the F&B booths at the event.
Whether you’re craving a hearty mala hotpot dish or refreshing beer, the festival will satisfy your appetite. Seafood lovers, make your way to the Crabulous or Vermicelli with Seafood booth and fill your tummy with fresh seafood.
There’s no need to fly to Korea for Korean dishes. Cravy Chicken can fulfill your longing for the delicious savoury dish – and we recommend you devour your meal with your fingers for the best experience.
We can’t miss out on the humongous Chang Beer booth at Waterway Point. This 2-storey container is every beer fan’s dream.
Mango sticky rice from the Thai stall Sweetlicious.
Other F&B offerings include Rosti Haus, Potato Queen, Egg Pancake, Mac & Co, Cocktail, and Lok Lok. But we’ll leave it to you to explore their menus.
Aside from stuffing your faces with good food, you can also enjoy the good vibes here. There are live music performances by Good Vibes at all 3 malls, in English, Hokkien, Chinese, and even Italian. Local star Marcus Chin will also be showcasing his talents at Hougang Mall.
Bring your little ones to the face painting booth at Waterway Point to get a colourful butterfly or flower painted on their faces. Or, if you’d like a painting for yourself, go ham. No one’s judging here. Just remember to take tonnes of pictures to commemorate your temporary ink.
If you need some props for your pictures, you’re in luck. There will be balloon sculpting happening at PLAYFEST 2024 at Waterway Point too. Get a dog, giraffe, or swan – whatever your heart desires. This way, your kiddos can also bring back a little souvenir from the event.
Shopaholics, if you’re itching to do some shopping, here’s your sign to do so. Shoppers can get $10 worth of PLAYFEST 2024 tokens from now till 22nd September 2024. You’ll need to hit a minimum of $100 in 3 same-day receipts, during the festival period held at each mall.
For those hitting up Waterway Point, you’ll receive a $5 FRx gift card when you spend $30 at select FRx participating F&B outlets from 16th-20th September 2024. Similarly, it has to be under 3 same-day receipts, with the transaction made on weekdays from 11.30am-2.30pm.
Citi Cardmembers, take note. There’s a $10 FRx gift card for redemption when you spend $100 from now till 15th October 2024. So, don’t hold back on your shopping spree, and take advantage of this promotion.
It’s safe to say that there’s tonnes to do at PLAYFEST 2024 this September. If you’d like to grab a beer or two, satisfy your street food cravings, or participate in fun games with the little ones, then bookmark this event as one of your things to do this weekend.
