Plantation Plaza in Tengah
Homeowners in Tengah can finally rejoice, as the spanking new Plantation Plaza neighbourhood centre has brought some much-needed convenience to the area. Just last week, the mini “mall” opened its doors for business, along with 3 familiar tenants, all ready to serve the Tengah residents.
Here’s what you need to know about the budding estate’s first neighbourhood centre, and what else to expect in the coming months.

The Plantation Plaza in Tengah officially began operations on 28th June 2024, and the 5-storey neighbourhood centre, coupled with an adjacent retail street, is well on its way to house 75 shops in total.

It’s smack dab in the middle of Tengah within the Plantation Village, and is within a 10-minute walk from all currently completed Tengah BTO projects. Visitors can also choose to take a free interim shuttle bus, or board buses 870 and 992 to arrive at Plantation Plaza.
The building’s first tenants were also unveiled last Friday; they include a Koufu food court, Giant supermarket, as well as a McDonald’s.

Tengah residents no longer have to rely on the mobile grocery trucks that have been making their rounds in the neighbourhood since December 2023 to get their fresh produce. They can pick up daily groceries from Plantation Plaza’s Giant in B1, without having to venture out to Jurong East and Bukit Batok for necessities.

As for food options, McDonald’s Golden Arches have found their way into Plantation Plaza and is open till 12am.
For those who want an alternative to fast food, they can swing by the trusty Koufu food court for their meals. Here, residents can dig into local fare at 12 different food stalls like fishball noodles and chicken rice, or go international with the Korean and Japanese cuisine.
Upcoming stores planned for Plantation Plaza
This trio of tenants is just a glimpse of what Tengah residents can expect to come to their neighbourhood in the near future. The Housing and Development Board (HDB) has stated that most of the stores in Plantation Plaza should be up and running by Q4 2024.

Daiso has already put up signs indicating their arrival, while potential tenants include Skechers and Happy Fish Swim School, which conducts swimming lessons in heated, indoor pools.
Also, eateries like Thai restaurant I Love Sukothai, Japanese joint Kei Kaisendon, and Lau Wang Claypot Delights are slated to beef up the neighbourhood centre’s F&B arsenal.
Look forward to new openings later this year at Plantation Plaza
It seems like the Tengah neighbourhood is slowly picking up steam with the opening of the Plantation Plaza. As more amenities are gradually being pushed out to its residents, it may not be too long before it transforms into the Punggol of the west, and so we await with bated breath.
If you’re curious what that could look like, take a look at these new features of Tengah that could shape it to be the neighbourhood of tomorrow. For more things to do in the vicinity, check out the nearby Jurong Railway Line, as well as Cosy Garden, a community garden in Bukit Batok.
