5 SG60 Activities The Whole Fam Will Love, From Mermaid Shows To A Retro Party & 1-For-1 Deals

NTUC Club SG60 activities

Singapore turning 60 is kind of a big deal, and we’re all in for a treat. From enchanting mermaid performances at Wild Wild Wet to access to some incredible lobangs, NTUC Club and its portfolio of brands are pulling out all the stops throughout August till the end of the year to celebrate the best of Singapore. The best part? Most of these events are open to the public, so you don’t even need a membership to join in on the fun.

So whether you’re looking to create new memories with the family, grab a bargain, or experience something truly unique, here are 5 fun SG60 events specially lined up by NTUC for you.

1. Enter a fairytale lagoon & meet SG’s first mermaid at Mermaid Tales

Come August 2025, Wild Wild Wet at Downtown East will transform into a magical lagoon with mermaids for Mermaid Tales 2025. And unlike watching The Little Mermaid, where it’s all see-see only, your little ones – so long as they are aged 4 to 10 – will get the chance to channel your inner Ariel by learning how to put on a mermaid tail and adorn your bodies with glittering mermaid tattoos.

On the weekends, Singapore’s first mermaid and founder of the Singapore Mermaid School, Syrena, will make a special appearance at Mermaid Tales to perform underwater. She’ll also be hosting a meet-and-greet before the performance so your kids can bring back evidence that they’ve met a real mermaid!

To mark SG60, Mermaid Tales will also be hosting a special National Day-themed programme on 9th August 2025, including sing-alongs of familiar National Day songs and storytelling sessions led by the mermaids.

The action isn’t limited to Wild Wild Wet, too. NTUC Members can score a limited-edition mermaid-themed puffer pouch with every $60 spent in a single receipt at Downtown East. The puffer pouch is only available while stocks last, and double spending is required for NTUC Fairprice receipts.

2. Groove at a retro party night

Time to get your dancing shoes on and step into a time machine at SquareRoom, a retro dance party held at D’Marquee at Downtown East on 23rd August.

The evening will be a throwback to the 80s and 90s courtesy of DJs Aldrin Quek and Leonard T. on the decks, and the entire space at D’Marquee will be transformed into an old-school, arcade-ified world, complete with smoke machines, laser shows, and nostalgic visuals. Come dressed in your best vintage fits and stand a chance to win at the costume contest, too.

Tickets for the retro dance party start from $27 for NTUC members using the code <NTUC10>, and $30 for the public. Each ticket also includes a standard drink. If you have a group of fellow groovers, you can also get a table package for the evening.

Get tickets to SquareRoom here.

3. Go golfing at Batam from $128

If you’re a golf enthusiast and have already conquered most of Singapore’s courses, why not head over to Batam for a weekend on the green with some fellow golfing kakis? NTUC Club’s My Golf Kaki is arranging day trips to the Batam Hills Golf Resort and Palm Springs Golf & Country Club every weekend.

Prices for these day trips start at $128 for My Golf Kaki members, and this includes 2-way ferry and local transfers, caddies, lunch and of course, an 18-hole game. You’ll also get the option to extend for an additional day from $258 per night; the rate includes another 18-hole game, accommodation at a 4-star hotel, breakfast and lunch.

Sign up for the Weekend Golf Quickie @ Batam (Saturday) and the Weekend Golf Quickie @ Batam (Sunday).

4. Unlock exclusive offers across dining, lifestyle, & entertainment brands

It’s no secret that we Singaporeans love a good deal. NTUC Club has curated a list of lobangs that will tickle your fancy whether you’re a foodie, an arcade aficionado, or a parent looking for a fun activity with the little ones.

Some of the standout deals include lunch specials from $9 at Wine Connection’s Downtown East store, 60 bonus tokens whenever you top up $60 worth of credits at Cow Play Cow Moo at E! Hub, and a 2.5-hour full body massage and facial treatment by Bellecare at an exclusive price of just $37 on UPlay.com.sg.

For those of you who are more active, you can also sign up for a beginner rock climbing course at Upwall Climbing in Downtown East for just $60 (U.P. $70). Families with kids looking for a memorable day out can head to Tayo Station and get the Family Fun Bundle for $60 (U.P. $85.70), which includes 2 children and 2 adult tickets, as well as an exclusive Tayo toy.

5. Celebrate the people who have shaped Singapore

To truly capture the essence of what Singapore is, NTUC Club has curated a series of 60 one-minute heartfelt videos called 60 Voices, 60 Journeys. From leaders to volunteers, everyday heroes to dedicated community members, these videos spotlight the personal journeys that have shaped Singapore.

These videos that give us a glimpse into the lives of the individuals working tirelessly on the frontlines and behind the scenes will premiere on the new NTUC Club YouTube channel.
