Big group outings with friends are no doubt fun. But we all know how planning one can be a little cumbersome, especially if everyone wants to do something different. So, where do you go when the hangout finally makes it out of the group chat?
Major 99, a hidden bar just a 9-minute walk from Ang Mo Kio MRT, may just be the answer to your conundrum.

One-stop entertainment hubs are nothing new in Singapore, but Major 99’s a step above your average KTV pool bar. Located in Broadway Plaza, the venue has 9 private karaoke rooms, old-school arcade machines, pool tables, beer pong, darts, and even live band performances. Depending on your mood, you can belt out your favourite Tay Tay songs or just chill with your friends at the bar over a bucket of beer.

If you’re planning to sing the night away with your friends, remember to book the private rooms (from $75 for 3 hours) before heading over. There are also mics in the open hall for those who aren’t the type to shine away from the spotlight.
KTV or not, we recommend reserving a table in advance. There’s a minimum spend of $28/table, but don’t worry, 5 pints of beer should do the trick – perfect for a few rounds of beer pong.
Speaking of which, there’s also a corner that looks like a mini Timezone. Try your luck at the claw machines, impress your crush at the classic Whack ‘Em, or shoot some hoops at the basketball machine.

For those who’ve got a birthday coming up, consider hosting your party in their VIP room, which includes 12 sofa seats, 2 counter ones, and a karaoke system for you to sing your heart out. Rates are available upon request, so just drop Major 99 a DM on Instagram.
As for food, there’s no need for external catering. They’ve got a plethora of lok lok options like grilled prawns (from $25) and fried wantons (from $15) to go around.
Those who can’t sing a tune to save their lives can just vibe to the live music with a pint of beer (from $16). On selected Tuesdays and Sundays, Major 99 has resident bands and guest DJs to keep you entertained throughout the night.
There are also themed nights like “Slumber Party” where you can dance all night at the main hall, which will be converted into a dance floor.
Fun-filled nights for big groups don’t just mean choosing between KTV, drinking games, or clubbing. You can do them all at the same time at Major 99. Plus, they serve food so you can have dinner or supper here to wrap up the night.
