LINE FRIENDS cover

Just in time for the school holidays, LINE FRIENDS World Tour has arrived on our shores with city-themed installations covering a whopping 13 malls. With iconic landmarks from around the world, larger-than-life mascots, pop-up merchandise stores and a whole lineup of activities, there’s plenty to keep your weekends packed well into end January 2020.

Here are the key things you need to look out for:

Installations covering 13 malls

Much like how countries are scattered around the globe, the installations of this World Tour are spread out all around Singapore. From New York City and Antarctica to Macau and Istanbul, there are plenty of landmarks you’ll be able to spot from now till 24th January 2020.

LINE FRIENDS in Istanbul – Bugis Junction

LINE FRIENDS in Istanbul - Bugis Junction

Take a trip to Turkey, LINE FRIENDS-style, with the Istanbul-themed installations over at Bugis Junction. The cartoon characters might be teeny tiny on the app, but here, we were dwarfed by the giant BROWN donned in Turkish garb.

Wander through the LED-lit walkways

Capturing the essence of Turkish architecture with arched walkways, minarets and colourful stained glass windows, the life-sized set-up whizzes you off into a cartoon version of this faraway land that’ll take your breath away.

The set-up is impressive in the day, but come nightfall, and the installation lights up, turning the area into a dazzling spectacle you’ll find yourself gravitating towards.

Continuing with the Istanbul theme, there are also Turkish street carts resembling the ones you’d find selling pretzels and ice cream on Turkey’s cobblestone streets!

LINE FRIENDS in Singapore – Funan

Sprinkled with nostalgic elements such as the Toa Payoh Dragon Playground, Samsui women and the Merlion, the installations you’ll spot at Funan are a little nod towards our history and are an adorable addition to the plenty of things you can do in the mall.

At Westgate, step into the LINE FRIENDS version of London, complete with Big Ben, a vintage train station and the city’s iconic red telephone booths. The largest statue of BROWN from the event can also be found here, standing at 3.5M tall, and dressed like a Queen’s Guard.

LINE FRIENDS in Macau – The Star Vista

With buildings inspired by Senado Square and Guia Lighthouse, those heading to The Star Vista will find the atrium transformed into an idyllic cartoon version of Macau that we know and love.
