CNY 2020 at Jem
Visiting the temple might be a family’s annual CNY affair but we already dread the thought of having to jostle with the crowd. But if there’s one place to visit this CNY, it’s Jem’s life-sized LEGO® Temple Fair. Built entirely out of colourful LEGO blocks, this temple fair has a full-fledged Chinese garden with a wishing tree and plenty of red and gold CNY decor.
While the LEGO temple structure makes a unique IG backdrop, there are also many LEGO-themed activities like a building competition, limited edition gifts with purchase, and redeemable shopping vouchers. Step into a playground made out of LEGO
Life-sized temple fair, LEGO building competition & shadow play
With Jem’s new collab with LEGO, there’s plenty of things to do – from taking photos with a LEGO backdrop or admiring the life-sized Lion Dance LEGO set. You can even write down your new year wishes and hang them on the LEGO Wishing Tree.
While doing so, you’ll certainly associate this year’s CNY with LEGO’s Lunar New Year sets. You’ll be snapping plenty of OOTDs and family shots, so remember to share them on Instagram or Facebook and stand a chance to win up to $120 LEGO products when you take selfies with life-sized LEGO figures. On weekends, you can also join in the Creative LEGO Shadow Puppet activity where you can choose designs like dinosaurs and vampires, and use a “light brick” to flash shadows against the wall – perfect for a storytelling sesh.
You can also form teams of 3 with your family and friends to build a rat out of LEGO bricks together – to usher in the Year of the Rat. The fastest builders might bring home a themed LEGO set worth up to $150.
Otherwise, you can also build a LEGO traditional drum to wake up the lion with style.
If you spend a min. of $38 across Jem stores and participate in all LEGO CNY activities for the day, you can also get a free Mystery LEGO Polybag* that you can use to build your own LEGO creations. You can redeem your polybag at L1 Jem Atrium.

Also take the chance to admire the LEGO CNY Parade Diorama too – it’s made out of 58,888 LEGO pieces. This CNY-themed LEGO display took 88 hours to build, featuring common CNY sights like chinatown gates and lion dances. Look at the diorama closely too since they’ve hidden 8 LEGO minifigures in plain sight, including the likes of Iron Man and a Star Wars Storm Trooper.
