As a Muslim teen growing up in the late 2000s, there weren’t many halal food options available for me. Eating out during after-school lepak sessions usually meant alternating between fast food joints or Swensen’s. From ramen to buffets, us Muslim peeps were missing out on a lot of good food back then.
Thankfully, you’ll find more restaurants serving halal, international cuisine now. Here’s a compilation of Halal-Certified eateries, so that fellow Muslims – or your Muslim friends – can satiate their cravings for international nosh, beyond the usual eateries.
Also check out:
I can’t count the number of times I’ve found myself looking longingly at the menus of ramen stalls, only to come across the word tonkotsu – Japanese for pork bones. *cries internally* Luckily, The Ramen Stall – one of the few halal ramen joints in Singapore – solves that.

The rich broth is prepared by boiling meat and bones for a whopping 30 hours. For those with a predilection for all things spicy, take on the Volcano Ramen ($11), which is available in 3 spice levels.
They also have kaisen dons and sashimi. Image credit: @whyugottobesorude
With a closing time of 6am, The Ramen Stall is perfect as a late-night lepak spot where you can eat your night away to your heart’s content.

Many have singled out the Molten Chocolate Lava Cake ($10.90) and Fried Chicken and Waffle ($10.90) as the restaurant’s best dishes. Given how sinful they look, it’s a blessing that the gym is located nearby.

Cupcakes are priced from $3.30 a piece. Out of their mainstays, I would recommend the Salted Caramel one as the mellow sweetness of the cake is complemented by the saltiness of the caramel.
