Grand Park Orchard Singapore Staycation

Grand Park Orchard Hotel Singapore

Many Singaporeans ought to have caught a glimpse of this huge screen while walking along Orchard Road. Or you may have noticed a certain Abercrombie and Finch advertisement there that was deemed to sexy to be displayed in Singapore.

And in this spot just opposite Takashimaya and Paragon lies the hotel previously known as “Park Hotel Orchard”. After undergoing renovation, it was rebranded as Grand Park Orchard in 2010. Since then, it has become the flagship hotel of the Park Hotel Group.

Its winning location in the city got Chloe so excited that after checking in she immediately declared a shopping spree. We then walked along Orchard Road for the next 4 hours (wasn’t very fun for me) .

The Lobby Area / Swimming Pool

Click bottom right button for full screen mode – you can also zoom in and out of the panorama.

The lobby on the 4th floor has a unique setting. Its kinda like a four in one Lobby + Bar + Pool + Gym as they are all visually connected with each other. You can be at their 24 hour gym working out while checking people swim, looking over the bar or peering into the lobby.

Bar Canary

Bar Canary is open from 12.00 pm to 1.00 am daily. In the day it exudes a chillax feeling perfect for lazing around their pool. By night, its pretty lights give off a sophisticated cool vibe.

Open House Restaurant

Open House is their all day dining restaurant with breakfast to dinner being buffets. The kitchen features four live cooking stations.

Note that from September to November they are having an “All-You-Can-Eat Wonderland” with Dim Sum, Pizzas and claypot delights.

I wouldn’t say the food here is fantastic but the prices here are. Their buffets are just $25++ for lunch and $33++ for dinner! Their restaurant is actually combined with their other bar, Onyx which you will see at the entrance of Open House.

Crystal Club Lounge

Grand Park Orchard’s top two floors are dedicated to Crystal Club guests, their personalised service accorded to premium guests. Some of the extra benefits are:

  • Private check-in and check-out (on the 11th Floor)
  • Business support services
  • Personalised butler services
  • Complimentary buffet breakfast, all-day refreshments.
  • Afternoon tea and evening hors d’oeuvres at the Crystal Club Lounge

If you can’t remember all that don’t worry the moment you check in they will give you a personalized letter with all the benefits you’re entitled too. A nice touch was their late checkout option at 3pm, a feature they extend to non-crystal club guests too.

Grand Park Orchard Suites

Grand Park Orchard has 6 suites in total, one being a special Presidential Suite. They are all conveniently located on the highest floor, right next to the Crystal Club Lounge giving you that extra feeling of prestige. We were fortunate enough to be staying in one of the suites.

Chloe busy planning her shopping. Its hard to resist when you wake up to a view of Takashimaya!

I loved how they had included a workstation for you to use in the suite. You don’t see that in many hotels and its something ideal for business travelers who don’t want to lug around a laptop or have go out out of their room to use a computer.

The Bang & Ouflsen TV was another nice touch but I was most impressed by the butler service which they offer to Crystal Club rooms. A few minutes after checking in, our butler Alam Albahar came in and introduced himself bringing along Gryphon tea. He was super cheerful and he gave us an impromptu tour around the room on our request.

Grand Park Orchard Bathroom

We liked the dual basins in the bathroom and the large bathtub. Suites also have Bvlgari bathroom amenities, which are also offered to ladies who choose their Stay Beautiful package.

Grand Park Orchard’s Location

One negative aspect were how the rooms are a bit small. Being located in such a prime area, it’s probably because of their need to maximize their space. I feel this staycation would appeal most to those wanting a short getaway in the city for shopping sprees or girlfriends who want to indulge in a beauty pampering session in the city.

Being in the heart of the city, Chloe insisted we had to catch a midnight movie. Because after that we could conveniently walk ‘home’. So later that night we were off to cineleisure!

Note that Grand Park Orchard is currently having a promotion where if you book with them directly you will be guaranteed the Best Available Rate with a FREE UPGRADE on your room. The most attractive package to me looks like their Great Weekend Getaway staycation package. It says its till August but they probably have an equivalent for later months so you can call them up and ask.

Great Weekend Getaway Package:

Room Category Room Rate (per night)

  • Deluxe Room (Single Occupancy) From SGD 255++
  • Deluxe Room (Double Occupancy) From SGD 275++
  • Premier Room (Single Occupancy) From SGD 285++
