Genting Dream themed cruises 2025-2026

If you’re one for laidback, leisurely vacations rather than hectic trips whose itineraries are bursting at the seams from dawn till dusk, a short respite aboard a cruise might just be your thing. However, packing your bags for a mundane voyage is plain boring too; after all, you’ll essentially be stuck at sea without much incentive to venture out of your cabins.

For a healthy mix of exciting things to do while having the option to kick back and relax when desired, weigh anchor with the Genting Dream’s themed cruises. They’re coming up with a selection of festival-inspired cruises that promises heaps of fun for travellers of all ages; here’s a glimpse of the on-board action.

What are Genting Dream’s themed cruises?

For vacationers who love a good time aboard cruises, you’ll be glad to know that for 2025, the Genting Dream, Resorts World One, and Star Voyager cruises are adopting an overarching theme for their trips out to sea: Across the Seasons: Celebrating International Festivals.

What this means is that the Genting Dream, Resorts World One, and Star Voyager cruises will embark on festival-themed voyages throughout the year. They’ll have different themes across the 4 different seasons, so repeat trips aboard their ships is definitely an option for seafaring enthusiasts.

In the case of the Genting Dream, these themed-cruises start departing from now till April 2026. Prices start from $235, and you’ve got the choice between 3D2N or 4D3N stays to destinations such as Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Penang, and Phuket. Additionally, book your stays now with your DBS or POSB card to enjoy an extra 5% off.

Themed cruises for each season of the year

As far as the Genting Dream is concerned, the 335m-long ship will play host to a whopping 12 different themes, consisting of international festivals celebrated during each season of the year.

For starters, those who often jet over to Japan during cherry blossom season to catch the blooms can consider the Genting Dream’s Sakura Serenade: Cherry Blossom Symphony cruise. Guests will be able to partake in a slew of Japanese and cherry blossom season-related activities, such as free paper fan-making workshops and canvas painting classes ($8).

Other events to look forward to include an Anime Mania Guessing Game held in the ship’s lobby on Deck 6, where participants have to identify anime clips ranging from childhood classics to modern favourites. There’s also the Cherry Blossom Symphony celebration, in which guests can wield colourful boomwhackers to jam out to Japanese tunes.

Thailand’s bustling Songkran Festival will also be emulated aboard the Genting Dream during its Splash & Groove: Songkran Water Beats cruise. The ship’s main pool on Deck 16 will be transformed into a water-fueled playground, where guests can compete in various games like a swimming relay race, splash tag, and water balloon toss.

Of course, there’ll also be a Songkran Pool Party held on the ship’s outdoor Zouk Night Club; be warned, expect buckets of water to rain from above as you get blasted with super soakers from all directions.

On that note, the Genting Dream’s Electric Paradise: Tomorrowland Voyage cruise is just the thing for the most fervent party animals out there. Taking a page out of the annual Tomorrowland EDM music festival from Belgium, the highlight of this electrifying experience is the Sunset EDM Party which sports a DJ lineup of both local and international talents.

You’ll even have the opportunity to try your hand at designing your own eye-catching outfits at the glow-in-the-dark T-shirt painting ($8) and DIY light-up masks workshops ($8). Afterwards, rave to your heart’s content at the Neon Glow-in-the-Dark Party ($18), or lose yourself in the booming beats of the Silent Disco Party ($18).

The Bavarian Beats: Oktoberfest Revival cruise is another one to look out for. This booze bonanza borrows inspiration from Germany’s Oktoberfest festivities, so there’ll definitely be no shortage of tipples, sausages, and other Deutsch-related goodies to indulge in.

Some activities that are lined up for this one include a pretzel brooch-making workshop, as well as a beer mug painting session if you need a personalised vessel for your liquid courage. Don’t forget to sign up for the free Schuhplattler dance classes too, where you’ll be taught how to perform the intricate Bavarian dance, possibly while inebriated.
