The queues at Genki Sushi are already long enough even on a regular weekday, and with the return of the Genki Sushi Squad – a lineup of cute plushie sling bags – you might want to mentally prepare for an even longer wait.

The Genki Sushi Squad first dropped as a collection of sushi-themed, Jellycat-style plushie sling bags created to celebrate the brand’s 6th anniversary in Singapore. And it didn’t take long for Singaporeans with a soft spot for all things cute to wipe them off the shelves. The bags sold out across all outlets in just 10 days, leaving many fans empty-handed.
Now, the squad is officially back for round 2, with a new lineup featuring 4 fresh characters: Ebi Fry-chan, Unagi-chan, Kani-san, and Maguro-kun.
Each plushie sling bag comes with a fluffy white sushi rice body and a zip compartment to stash your everyday essentials. But the real fun is in the interchangeable velcro toppings, which let you switch up your sushi “flavour” depending on your mood.

While the plushie sling bags aren’t blind box-style, your purchase will still come with a character card, something like a little profile introducing your new sushi buddy, complete with its likes and quirky special skill.

The new plushie sling bags rolled out officially on 18th June 2026, with a new design released weekly. At the time of writing, all designs have launched and will be available for purchase till 31st August 2026, while stocks last.
You can get your hands on a bag at all outlets, even if you’re not dining in. The bags are priced at $19.90 each, but members get to snag them at just $9.90 instead. And since it’s completely free to sign up as a Genki Sushi member, there’s really no reason not to enjoy the discounted price while you’re at it.
BTW, if you’ve been a regular at the sushi joint and have managed to clock points to level up to Premium Member status, you’re in for an extra treat – spend a minimum of $50 nett, and you’ll receive a free plushie keychain as a bonus.
