Funan Singapore Art Week 2023 displays
Hopping on the rabbit theme with a twist of its own is Funan. Instead of seeing the usual red lanterns sprawled across the mall, you’ll find more contemporary themes based around the Year of the Rabbit. And while you’re snapping away for the Gram, you can stand a chance to win STAR$ worth $50 too.
The displays are part of the overarching theme of Creative Intersections: In the Year of the Rabbit. It’s part of this year’s Singapore Art Week 2023 and runs from now until 5th February 2023.
Spot the hidden rabbits and stand to win 50,000 STAR$
Spot the bunny and get a chance at the money. All you have to do is look out for 6 rabbit sculptures hidden in 2 areas of the mall and post a photo of yourself posing with one of them on Instagram. Remember to hashtag #CreativeIntersections and tag @funansg in your captions. To qualify, you will have to follow @funansg and share Funan’s Instagram post.
5 people will be picked to win 50,000 STAR$ – currency for the point system in the CapitaStar app (App Store | Google Play). This equates to $50 worth of eCapitaVouchers that you can use to get your CNY shopping done. You have till 5th February 2023 to join the contest so hop on to it.
Each of the 6 rabbit sculptures hidden around the mall have been painted by different artists to reflect their take on Funan’s colours and retail stores. For instance, Dawn Ang AKA Aeropalmics painted a grey robot-inspired bunny as a tribute to Funan’s longtime association with tech stores.

Get some IG-worthy shots at the Lenskart and Howie Kim installation to brighten up your feed.
For those who like dabbling in the arts or simply just admiring them, take a stroll and view the 6 pop-up art displays around the mall. Each display is a unique collaboration piece between a local artist and a brand, showcasing the artist’s take on the year of the rabbit theme.
“The Impossible Third” art display by local playwright Nabilah Said, in collaboration with sewing and embroidery system brand BERNINA.
Stimulate your brain to read between the lines at BERNINA with “The Impossible Third” by playwright Nabilah Said. There is a third poem hidden within 2 poem columns that has been embroidered in fabric. See if you manage to figure it out.
Disney fans, see if you can spot the Alice in Wonderland references.
View cool monochromatic Rabbit Kaiju figurines made in collaboration with ink artist Rex Lee and BLAXK by ActionCity. Each individual bunny has been uniquely designed by Rex with various inking techniques. So, if you’re a fan of figurines or are an art collector, you’ll want to check out this unique collection.
Attend craft workshops
Besides strolling about, get hands-on with craft workshops. Put together your own terrarium with The Green Capsule then learn how to make bunnies and butterflies out of clay from local artist Yen Phang.

If you ever wanted to try your hand at sustainable craft, go for the tray making workshop with homewares brand Chokmah instead. Ong Si Hui, a local sculptor, will bring you through how to make a tray out of Jesmonite resin and her scrap stone chips from sculpting. You’ll get to bring home a minimalistic elegant tray with marble or granite inlay made by your very hands.
