February is yet another festive month where many will look to indulge in something yummy for CNY reunions or Valentine’s Day. This list of 20 new cafes and restaurants is here to provide some fresh alternatives to the usual popular food places we already frequently visit:

We’ve all seen the Instagram videos featuring fluffy pancakes jiggling like mad, and Artea is another joint that serves these pillowy Japanese-style desserts, drenched in thick cream.

2. Three Good Guys – mala and salted egg xiang guo

We all know that one friend who has to eat Mala every other day. We also have that one other friend who’s a certified salted-egg addict. Three Good Guys located at Golden Mile Food Centre is basically the best of both worlds.

Offering both the OG Mala and their signature Salted Egg Yolk Xiang Guo, this place is great for both the spice lover as well as those who can’t handle the heat. This home-grown brand is attracting really long queues despite being new, so make sure to go early when open at 12pm.

3. Baristart Coffee SG – popular cafe from Hokkaido

Baristart Coffee, a popular cafe hailing from Hokkaido has opened their first overseas branch in Singapore, and people who are serious about coffee and all things kawaii should take note.

Baristart specially imports milk from Biei, Hokkaido, to give all their coffee and cream-based food a rich flavour and luxurious mouth-feel. For a full meal, give their creamy Hokkaido Carbonara ($17.80) a try.

We can always do with more pretty food pictures, so round up your meal with the adorable Shiro Kuma Shaved Ice ($9.80) which has cut fruits and Biei ice cream hidden under a ball of shaved ice. Pick from coffee, strawberry or green tea syrups to drizzle all over your cute bear dessert.

4. Hao Lai Ke – DTF alternative

Good news for all those who love Din Tai Fung but can’t afford to go there frequently, because Hao Lai Ke offers a bang-for-buck alternative. Their Pork Ribs Fried Rice ($6) tastes similar to the one at DTF while many have sung praises for their signature Bean Paste Minced Noodle ($4.20).

Snuggled in the East, this seemingly innocuous hawker stall has attracted rather long queues for its generous portions and yummy food, so be prepared to wait in true Singaporean fashion during peak hours

5. Ministry of Burgers – ramly burgers

One of the main staples of a pasar malam food trail is a juicy Ramly burger. Ministry of Burgers serves those all year round, so unlike the fleeting weeks you get with a pop-up night market, this cafe’s regular opening hours lets you satisfy your cravings with ease.

Get the MoB Thunder ($9.90) burger and their signature Singapore Lightning ($5.90) drinks for a full meal. Available in multiple flavours, each Singapore Lightning cup is fitted with a light that corresponds to the colour of the drink.

6. Inspiration Store – Japanese ochazuke pop-up

Minimalists and traditional Japanese culture lovers, Inspiration Store might just be your next favourite eatery. This pop-up boutique cafe launched by JR East boasts concepts that change every few months and currently serves Ochazuke and premium green tea from now till 30th April 2019.

7. Kurotaki Chabann – China’s largest tea cafe

This one’s for all the milk tea addicts. Kurotaki Chabann, China’s largest tea cafe, has arrived in Singapore. Make sure to try out their take on the trendy Dirty Milk Tea or their uniquely flavoured Cheese Teas such as Rose Oolong ($4.20).

8. Pokemon Cafe – pop-up with themed decor

For the next 3 months, 2 pop-up Pokemon Cafes will be running and visitors will get to snap some cute pictures with the themed decorations and food. Pokemon fanatics should hurry down to catch ‘em all before they’re gone!
