With concoctions like nasi lemak burgers and salted egg yolk chicken selling like hotcakes, it’s clear Singaporeans have no qualms about eating food based on classic local dishes.
That said, you rarely see people creating them in their own kitchen. Due to the many layers of these dishes, most of us assume that whipping ‘em up is a Herculean effort.
Enter FairPrice Finest.

The journey to a delish dish begins in the kitchen and thanks to Ownself Make Chef’s Chef Shen Tan, you can be a Masterchef in no time.
Chef Tan created 3 recipes for the campaign: Chicken Rice Risotto, Kaya Gula Melaka Tiramisu, and Beef Stroganoff Laksa. To drive home just how easy it is to replicate the recipes, these dishes have been recreated by 3 different everyday people from all walks of life.
Inspired by Chef Tan, cooking channel – the MEATMEN – has also prepared their own dish: the Rendang Spiced Sio Bak.
