We all know Sentosa as the destination to soak up the sun at the beach or spend a day at Universal Studios Singapore or SEA Aquarium. If you’re heading there anytime soon, be sure to check out the 4 massive art installations which are not only whimsical but have a sustainable meaning too. They’re titled Explorers of Sentosa, and are hidden in secret locations around the Palawan area.
So unleash your inner Max and be welcomed to the island by the Wild Things. But first, here’s all you need to know:

Palawan Beach will soon be home to 4 new statues by recycling artist Thomas Dambo. He’s known for works of art that have been displayed in all corners of the world like The Future Forest Chapultepec, a colourful installation that features flora and fauna that was made in collaboration with children from an orphanage.
As with his 97 other works around the globe, the larger-than-life sculptures at Sentosa are made from reclaimed wood and other recyclable materials – talk about upcycling.

There’ll also be an interactive map, which you can use to explore and hunt for the statues. To take part in the Explorers Quest, find the Eternity flower at Palawan Kidz City, which holds the secret to the 3 treasure codes. You’ll then have to scan the QR code for the interactive map and follow the clue to continue the quest.
Take a pic once you find one of these bad boys because they are a sight to behold.
Where are these statues located, you may be wondering? Well it’s on Palawan Beach, just an 8-minute walk from Beach Station. It’s famed for the IG-famous rope bridge that links the beach to Palawan Island.
We think Palawan Beach is set to become the next family hangout spot with its exciting lineup of upcoming attractions like UltraGolf, an 18-hole golf course and a new go-karting arena. It’s also home to Hydrodash, Singapore’s first inflatable water amusement park, and Mediterranean restaurant FOC Sentosa.

You won’t have to worry about missing these works of art because they’ll be docked in the area ‘till the end 2024. As an added bonus, the interactive maps are completely free to the public. So grab the kids and bring them down to Sentosa for a family-friendly scavenger art hunt around Palawan.
These giant statues can make learning about recycling fun for the kiddos – and who knows, they might just inspire their next artistic creation.
And now that Sentosa is offering free island admission until 31st December 2022, there’s no better time to go. All you have to do is put on some comfortable walking shoes and go exploring.
