Chinatown Point Has A Mid-Autumn Carnival With Dreamy Photo Ops & White Rabbit Candy Mooncake

Mid-Autumn Festival at Chinatown Point 2024

As we head into the midst of September, our yearly affair with lanterns and bunnies draws ever so close. That’s right, Mid-Autumn Festival is knocking, but if you don’t have any mooncake-munching plans lined up yet, Chinatown Point is just the place to be to revel in the festivities.

This year, they’ve got a whole Mid-Autumn carnival happening from now till 17th September 2024 to check out, along with family-friendly activities and an otherworldly photo spot. Here’s what you can expect when you head down:

Play games & feast on mooncakes at the Mid-Autumn Carnival

The main attraction for Chinatown Point’s Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations is their Mid-Autumn Carnival, and you literally can’t miss this bustling fiesta. Located on Level 1, in the Main Atrium of the mall, it’s packed with various activities for the whole fam to enjoy.

For a challenge, try your hand at the 4 game booths at the carnival. Test your accuracy at the Moon Bounce ($6/game) booth, where you’ll have to toss a ball to hit a board and eventually land it in a container below to win a prize. In case you don’t win on your first try, you can also purchase a stored-value game card with 5 game credits for only $25.

Prizes like these White Rabbit plushies are up for grabs.

If you feel like Lady Luck’s smiling on you, then give the sure-win Bag A White Rabbit ($10/game) booth a shot; you just have to pick a paper bag at random and you’ll be awarded prizes based on how many tokens that are in the bag. Otherwise, you can also have a go at the claw machines; do drop by to see what fabulous prizes you can reel in.

A Mid-Autumn celebration is never complete without a serving of mooncake or two, so indulge in some right here. You’ll be able to load up on an assortment of colourful mooncakes from Polar Puffs & Cakes, as well as offerings of various flavours courtesy of stores like Duke Bakery, Starbucks, and Peach Garden.

Of course, White Rabbit will also be setting up shop, so you can look forward to snacking on some of their nostalgia-inducing milk-based creamy candy. But, do keep a keen eye out for their coveted White Rabbit Candy Mooncakes (from $72), as it’s the first time White Rabbit are offering their rendition of this traditional confection.

They’ve also got Snow Skin Mooncakes made in collaboration with The Pine Garden (from $78).  Regardless of which one you decide to purchase, their mooncakes even come in pretty collector’s tins, and you’ll get a free White Rabbit Tumbler worth $39.90 if you buy 3 tins or more.

Each box comes with 6 dainty mooncakes, all embossed with an adorable bunny symbol on top. They’re wonderfully flavoured; you’ll get hints of black truffle in one, while creamy custard and chocolate liqueur fill your mouth as you chomp down on these delicate treats. Do pick these up at Chinatown Point’s Mid-Autumn Carnival, as there’ll be an exclusive 20% discount here.

White Rabbit merch is also making a return this year; for sale are oversized pillows of the brand’s iconic logo ($25) and candy ($28), alongside umbrellas ($28), tumblers ($39.90), plates ($33), and cups ($18). For a quick treat , they’re even selling White Rabbit ice cream sticks and cones from $3, as well as White Rabbit candy in a myriad of exclusive flavours like mango and yoghurt.

Bring home an exclusive mooncake bag & take IG-worthy pics

The mall is also rewarding those who’re looking to do some shopping during the ongoing festivities. From now till 29th September 2024, shoppers at Chinatown Point can bring home an exclusive Mooncake Reusable Bag upon hitting a minimum spend of $188 within a maximum of 3 combined same-day receipts.

The bag comes packaged in a separate, mooncake-shaped pouch too that doubles as a keychain.

Do note that these are limited to 1 redemption per shopper, per day. Stocks are limited, and since the mall is dishing these out on a first-come first-served basis, you’ll want to swing by the Customer Service Counter on Level 2 soon in order to cop one yourself.

Before you call it a day, be sure to make a stop at the free To The Moon And Back photo spot that’s set up at the Outdoor Atrium right outside the carnival. Although it’s open all day, from now till 29th September 2024, you’ll want to swing by the spot between 7pm and 9pm.

That’s when this out-of-this-world, moon-themed backdrop emits a light mist, blessing your IG story updates with an ethereal touch. The back of the installation also sports an illuminated mirror, so your friends can get in on the act too.

If the little ones can’t get enough of the festivities, mark your calendars for the Mass Lantern Walk ($5) that’ll be taking place on 14th September 2024, from 7pm-9pm. You can sign up for it on the onePA website; Lanterns will be provided, and the get-together is bound to be wholesome as heck, as families parade from Chinatown Point to Kreta Ayer Square.
