12 Bro Hangouts In Singapore So Boys Night Out Doesn't End Up In A LAN Shop

10 minutes reading time (2020 words)

Bro Big or Bro Home

Us ladies have it made with endless activity options every weekend, from shopping sprees all across the island to swanky high teas to attend. Surely there's got to be more for the dudes than chilling at some nondescript corner in town and whiling the afternoon away, right?

Contrary to popular belief, there is a TON to be done in and around Singapore for our bromigos. Gone are the days where you hit your friends up during what little free time you guys have, only to mope around wasting precious dollars on activities y’all aren’t even interested in.

Round up your posse and partake in this select list of bro-hangs right on our sunny shores!

1. Have a make(br)over together with your mates at Hounds of the Baskervilles

Your bros might not tell you, but I will - it’s time to ditch that budget hairdo you’ve been sporting since primary school. You’d be surprised what a quality trim could do to make your overall style look on POINT.

When they’re not dripping with swag, the Hounds of the Baskervilles team helps countless dudes achieve their facial hair goals. Perhaps you’d even like to step into badass territory and get a piercing or tattoo here. One thing’s for sure: nothing bonds a band of brothers quite like going into a barbershop as soggy ah boys, and stepping out as dapper young gentlemen.

Address: 24 Bali Lane S(189860)
Opening hours: 11am - 10pm (Mon to Fri), 11am - 7pm (Sat)

2. Take the Roadhouse's Terminator Challenge for ultimate bragging rights

There’s always that underlying need to be prim and proper when dining with a date. That all goes out the window when you’re pigging out with your pals, though. Don’t be afraid to get messy with Roadhouse’s infamous Terminator Challenge.

Down this mammoth 1 kg burger in 20 minutes or less and it’s on the house! If that’s not enough to fuel the carnivorous fire within you, try their latest Red Hot Terminator Challenge for size. Like the original, it’s the same tower of wagyu beef patties, but infused with tastebud-numbing spices and topped with jalapeno peppers.

Are you up for the challenge?

Address: 13 Dempsey Road, S(249674)
Opening hours: Mon to Fri 11:30am - 3pm & 6:30pm - 11:30pm, Sat & Sun 9am - 11:30pm

3. Scale the walls of your bro kingdom at Climb Central. Your bro-dom.

Pumping iron and wrestling with cardio machines at the gym gets old, fast. Opt for a fresh new form of working out at Climb Central, where you and your buddies can scale the magnificent rock walls together one boulder at a time.

All the excitement, without the sweltering heat - Climb Central is located in the comfortable and air conditioned surroundings of the Singapore Sports Hub. Better drink more water to prepare for all your sweat and tears of accomplishment when you reach the pinnacle of that 16 meter lead wall beside your bro!

Address: #B1-01 Kallang Wave Mall, 1 Stadium Place S(397628)
Opening hours: Mon to Fri 11am - 11pm, Sat & Sun 9am - 9pm

4. Indulge your inner geek at DC Superheroes Cafe

Cafe-hopping might not be your cup of tea, but this is one Instaworthy hotspot you and your bros cannot miss out on. Amidst a cozy interior decked out with DC merch, pay tribute to your fave superheroes with culinary creations like Green Lantern’s Sector Burger with chilli crab sauce, a duck confit sandwich called Superman Flyin’ High, and the morbid sounding Aquaman’s Friends With Fish And Chips.

Pssst...make sure to take advantage of their daily lunch promos! You’ll get to savour all the aforementioned dishes along with a complimentary slice of cake and savings if you top-up your meal. Now THAT’S a super deal!

5. Go fishing on a boat at Sungei Pandan

Whether you’re a fishing enthusiast or are looking to cast your rod for the first time ever, we’ve got a secret little tip to let you in on. Tucked away at secluded kampong hunt, a fishing boat rental service known only by the name “Ah Cheng” charges $80 per head where you and your gang will be escorted out to the open sea. Bait included!

This boat rental service operates during working hours only, for groups of 6 to 12 people. Make sure to call in to make an advanced booking for weekend slots to avoid disappointment. It’s best to bring your own fishing rods, though there are rods available for rental.

Insider tip-offs reveal that March to April is the best time of the year to head there, with expectations of reeling in a mighty catch as big as a 22 kg grouper (!!).

The exact address is kept secret, but here’s a handy dandy satellite guide for you guys to refer to. It might take a bit of exploring to find, but it’ll be worth it once you reel in the catch of the day!

Address: Sungei Pandan, Singapore
Opening hours: Working hours, morning to evening. Depending on slot availability.
Contact: 9431 3191, ask for “Ah Cheng”

6. Get bumped to ultimate #squadgoal status at Bubble Bump

Soccer is an age-old activity that bonds the bros like no other. Take it to a whole new exhilarating level by jamming yourself into a bubble suit and running wild on an outdoor field, bumping your friends around and having a ball of a time. Unleash whatever aggression you may have buried deep within you.

Bubble Bump not only has caged fields at Kovan, Kallang, and Tiong Bahru, they can bring the party to you, anywhere! Head to your school, a track field, even the beach! Wherever it may be, it’s bubble bumpin’ game ON!

7. Make the great escape together at Xscape

Looking to inject a little thrill amongst your circle of bros?  In the realm of fun things in life that aren’t illegal, immoral or fattening, escape rooms are your best bet. Probably the greatest chance you’ll ever have to tackle a real-life adventure with your best buds, Xscape makes use of 5-dimensional technology for a fully immersive experience.

Catering to groups of up to 10 people, choose from the seemingly harmless Kung Fu Panda trails to the completely terrifying Whisper Of The Dead.

Warning: Not for the fainthearted. Unless you want to forever be referred to in your circle of friends as the guy who was so frightened he let pee escape his body in an escape room. Just sayin’.

Opening hours: 11am - 11:30pm (Mon to Thu), 11am - 1am (Fri & Sat), 11am - 11:30pm (Sun)

8. Have a LEGEN-wait for it!-DARY time at Adrenaline Laser Tag

Ever wanted to literally shoot your bro? Now you can do that without having to deal with the mess! Or jail time.

Using life-sized infrared rifles, you’ll be able to laser your pals down from great distances. While running wild and firing at your friends already seems like a blast, the team of Game Makers at Adrenaline Laser Tag have devised exclusive scenarios that only add to the excitement. These include the Sniper Shootout, Chief Mode and my personal favourite, Domination.

Address: #08-48, 111 Clementi St. 13 S(120111)
Opening hours: 8am - 11pm daily

9. Test your friendships at The Mind Cafe

It doesn’t matter when you met the guys you now call your bros, nothing brings a bunch of buddies together quite like getting back in touch with your childhood and playing some old-school games. The Mind Cafe is home to a whopping 1000+ card and board games, including games that could make or break friendships like Cards Against Humanity and Saboteur.

For a small charge of $2.50/hour per person on Fridays, Saturdays, the eves of public holidays and public holidays, and only $2/hour per person for every other day, you’ll get to play however many games your heart desires.

10. Charter a yacht for maritime partying with Valencia Yachts

“Bro let’s get matching anchor tattoos”
“Why bro”
“So our friendship never floats away”

If partying on land just doesn’t float your boat anymore - pardon the pun - then it’s time to set sail on a yacht as you course through the seas in search of the #bestdayever! Even if just for a day, you and your mates will get to experience the lifestyle of the rich and fancy while cruising along atop a private boat.

Pool your friends together to pitch in for the $1.9k charter rate for 5 hours. Then you guys can frolic in the sun, sing KTV within the cozy interior of the yacht, and even island-hop to gorgeous secluded bays!

11. Go kayaking in the wet and wild mangroves at Pulau Ubin

Kayaking in the river or open sea? Too mainstream. Kick it up a notch by heading straight for the wild mangroves of Pulau Ubin. Your arms will be toned and tanned by the end of the session but it'll be so much fun paddling through the water, you won't even notice how much of a workout it actually is!

We've heard that wild dugongs can be spotted on the island. If you see one, don't waste the opportunity to point to one and exclaiming to your kayak buddy, "Eh look bro, it's you!"

Address: Pulau Ubin, Singapore
Opening hours: Click here to check for daily slots!

12. Toast to St. Patrick’s Festival with a FREE pint of Guinness
