Bras Basah Complex Is Having Its First Open House With A Free Stamp Rally, Photobooth & Movie Screenings

Bras Basah.Bugis Open House – Bras Basah Complex

Every once in a while, we find ourselves feeling nostalgic for the old-school spots around Singapore, such as Grassland Book Store tucked inside Beauty World Centre, where stepping inside almost feels like travelling back in time. Another place that instantly sparks that same feeling is Bras Basah Complex, long known for its bookstores, art supply shops, and music stores.

On 7th and 8th March 2026, the complex is getting a fresh moment in the spotlight with the first-ever Bras Basah.Bugis (BBB) Open House. This event is a good excuse to wander the building’s corridors again, and maybe uncover some gems you’ve never noticed before.

What is the BBB Open House all about?

The BBB Open House at Bras Basah Complex is part of the precinct’s journey towards becoming a Creative District. It’s a weekend open to everyone, whether you frequent the complex or are just popping by for some fun.

Over 2 days, you can watch live performances, take part in fun activities, catch movie screenings, and visit a creative craft market.

What to expect at the open house

Sign up for the Bras Basah Complex Walking Tour

Join the Bras Basah Complex Walking Tour, which brings you inside the shops themselves, instead of just admiring the building from the outside.

You’ll get to meet some of the tenants who have been keeping the complex alive for years – stop by Music Connoisseur to try playing a smart guitar, watch a local comic artist sketch live at Ink Ink Collectibles, browse Chinese titles at Maha Yu Yi Bookstore, and catch a live calligraphy session at Chen Soon Lee Books Stamp and Coin Centre.

Each session features a different mix of stores, so no 2 tours are exactly the same.

Admission: $15
Time: 2pm-3.30pm | 4pm-5.30pm
Venue: Around Bras Basah Complex

Book a slot for the walking tour.

Take part in the stamp rally

Besides the POP MART stamp rally at Resorts World Sentosa, there’s another stamp rally you can take part in right here at Bras Basah Complex during the open house.

Simply collect stamps from 5 participating stores: wheniwasfour, Fook Hing Trading Co., Xinyue Music Studio, Maha Yu Yi Bookstore, and Union Book Co. Once you’ve gathered them all, you’ll be able to redeem a set of discount vouchers at the Open Day Info Counter to use at the shops.

Do note that redemption is while stocks last, so it’s best to start your stamp hunt early.

Admission: Free
Time: 1pm-8.30pm
Venue: Around Bras Basah Complex

Catch live performances

Between collecting stamps and checking out the stores at Bras Basah Complex, take a breather and catch some live performances happening throughout the open house.

Performers include Ann Siang Sounds and the tenants at Bras Basah Complex, such as Nrityalaya Aesthetics Society, Drum Prodigy, and Intune Music, among others.

When you’re there and happen to hear music drifting through the corridors while you’re exploring, follow the sound, and you might just stumble upon a performance worth stopping for.

Admission: Free
Time: 1pm-6.30pm
Venue: Plaza

There are plenty of photobooths in Singapore, but one that’s free? We’re digging it.

While you’re exploring Bras Basah Complex during the open house, drop by the 3-strip photobooth to snap some cute pics with your friends or family. Just follow @brasbasahbugis and @brasbasahcomplex on Instagram to redeem a free photostrip.

Admission: Free
Time: 1pm-7pm
Venue: Outside Cheers

Relax with an outdoor movie screening

You could always catch the latest blockbuster at one of the movie theatres in Singapore, but watching a film outdoors is just a different experience.

During the open house, kick back and catch an outdoor movie screening marathon featuring 2 family-friendly films: Zootopia 1 and Inside Out 1.

And don’t forget to dabao some food from the 24/7 Shifu Food Court located within the complex before the movie starts.

Admission: Free
Time: 6.30pm-8.30pm
Venue: Plaza
