– Things to do –

1. Get up close and personal with animals at the Animal Resort

Take a break from the city by visiting the Animal Resort. You’ll be so far away from the city that you’ll start to wonder whether you might’ve crossed the border by accident. Kampung vibes will hit you hard here. Just you and the animals – what is technology again?

Home to adorable rodents, furry friends and feathered fowls, it’ll be hard not to fall in love with this rustic gem and its lovable residents. Admission is completely free though you might want to spend some pennies on animal feed at a very low price! That’s one way to buy love.

We couldn’t resist exploring the place ourselves! Read more about our trip here!

2. Lend a helping hand and give back through volunteering

Earn some good karma points this April by volunteering with Youth Corps Singapore (YCS).

Whether it’s conducting a baking class, teaching sign language, or opening your home to some furry friends; there’s bound to be something you can do to help with your specific set of skills.

Yes, doing yoga whilst blindfolded is an actual thing. And the best thing is, you no longer need to bear the judgemental eyes of others when you can’t hold a pose longer than three seconds.

Even if it’s your first time doing yoga, friendly instructor will be there to guide you along every step of the way. So don’t worry about not having the right posture or not knowing how to get into crow pose. It’s all about the experience.

4. Shop and give back to society while you’re at it

Who knew  that shopping for yourself would be a way to give back to the community? And no, I didn’t make that up to feed my shopping addiction. It’s honestly possible to fulfil your material needs whilst helping the less fortunate.

For example, Out Of Print Tees donates a book to a community in need through the Books For Africa initiative every time you make a purchase. And they’ve got loads of quirky stuff for the literary geeks in the house.

Alternatively, if sweetness is your sin – indulge in some beautifully baked treats from The Ugly Cake Shop. They’ve pledged 20% of their proceeds towards buying food for hungry children in Timor-Leste. Now you can enjoy these delectable guilty treats without feeling the guilt.

You could be just one ferry ride away from your next great island adventure. All you need is just one day, or the weekend, to make your great escape to one of the many glorious islands surrounding Singapore.

From tanning on the sandy white beaches to exploring the mangrove swamps in a kayak, the endless number of activities on these paradise islands are a sure-fire way of making you forget about the pressing deadline of that 2,000 word essay.

Source

But that’s not the best part. You can actually rent a whole island just for you and your friends. Talk about being a baller! I don’t know about you, but I’m already in the midst of mentally planning my next birthday.

6. Conquer your fear of heights in a tree climbing adventure

Unleash your inner Tarzan by learning the basics of tree climbing! Nothing spells getting fit in a more unconventional way than tree climbing. Weird? Maybe. But when you can even make new friends by joining a group of recreational tree-climbers, count me in.

There are various courses for you to choose from depending on your current tree-climbing skills. From rescue protocols to knot tying to throwing techniques, there’s always something new to learn from each course, even if you’re already an expert tree-climber.

8. Hold a romantic picnic at a picture-perfect spot

Sembawang Park

We’ve all imagined how the perfect-est picnic would pan out: you lying on your date’s lap, soaking in the sunlight and being fed chilled quality grapes. Sadly, one problem always gets in the way, and that’s finding a good spot that isn’t too damp or too hot to set up camp.

Again, we’ve got your back. We’ve dug out 10 hipster spots for you to just laze the day away with your significant other. Impressed? Bae will be too!

Not only are these spots #dategoals, they’ll also solve all of your squad’s “where to go ah?” problems. All you need now is a picnic mat, yummy food and amazing company. Who knows. Maybe that hipster spot might become your crew’s new crib.

9. Stock up on food in case of a zombie apocalypse at these cheap food factories

Food factories tend to be located at really ulu areas, and driving there might seem like a daunting task. But when you’re bringing home a massive haul of edible treats whilst enjoying great savings at the same time, all that effort will be worth it.

Not only is everything at massively discounted wholesale prices, you can find just about anything from fresh sashimi to local pastries to Japanese snacks. You name it, they’ll have it.

Get the inside scoop on our trip to this secret food paradise here.

Team Cap will be accompanied by Winter Soldier (Sebestian Stan) and Falcon (Anthony Mackie) as well as the film’s director.
